Summary: Disappointed
Review: The other review by "Briansbro" was right on. I only wish I had read it before buying Memorex blanks. The new component DVD burner, the Panasonic HS2, cannot cope with these DVD-Rs for some reason. Out of a 5 pack, I got 1 successful burn. Everytime I put in the other 4, the player would literally shut down and power back up in "recover" mode. Weird.

As an addition to Briansbro's comments on compatibility, I had also bought two 5-packs of Imation blank DVD-Rs because they only had one Memorex left (lucky!). I have had no problems with Imation, not one. I only wish I had read his review BEFORE I had wasted time with Memorex. I started to think that it was the Panasonic I got (a lemon?). Nope, it was the Memorex's. I hope I can stop someone else (and enlighten them) before they buy these blank DVD-Rs to use with their cool Panasonic component DVD burners. I have the HS2 with the 40 gig hard drive in it FYI.

Summary: DON'T BUY THESE FOR A PANASONIC HS2

Summary: Trusy little media
Review: The performance of these discs makes them a bargain. I have achieved high quality recording each time I use them.

Summary: DVD+RW Dymystified
Review: The previous information presented in the ratings is not accurate.
A DVD+RW Disc is made to be used with DVD+RW recorders only. The statements concerning usage in the Pioneer Drive DVD-R/RW are incorrect.
The DVD+RW disc is not to be used in a DVD-R/RW recorder. It will not operate and it is not supposed to operate in this type of drive. The DVD+RW disc is made to operate in Philips, Ricoh, HP and Sony Drives that are DVD+RW compatible.

Summary: Warning! Not for use with Panasonic DVD Recorder
Review: This brand of recordable DVD may work fine in computers, but they are not to be used for playback on a DVD player. I was using them to transfer video to dvd using my new panasonic dvd recorder, and all of them had errors when I tried to play them back.
I called Panasonic and they advised the memorex brand was not reliable and suggested TDK, Pioneer and, of course, Panasonic brand.
Don't go for the bargain here - you can use almost any dvd-r blank disc EXCEPT the Memorex (and fyi, Maxell) for DVD recording that is intended for playback on a regular dvd player.

Summary: Works just fine
Review: This product works just fine. To use this DVD-RW as a data disk, you'll have to format it first. I used Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 Direct CD Format Utility. After formatting, the disk holds between 5.4 and 5.5 GB. I'm not sure DVD-RWs will render other removable media obsolete, as write-times are not what you get on hard drives or Iomega disks, but when you consider portability and physical storage space, this solution is pretty hard to beat.

Summary: Only burns at 1x on Pioneer 103 drive
Review: Though my Pioneer drive is spec'd for 2x DVD-R and other media
like Verbatim does burn at 2x. The Pioneer 103 will only let me burn this Memorex stuff at 1x. Someone tells me Memorex and Pioneer are in a brawl over something so this was Pioneers answer to getting even. Screw the consumer. Definitely Buyer Beware.
Not as advertised and I've got a ton of them to return.

Summary: Nothing But Coasters
Review: Tried burning about 15 discs on a Sony DRU-500A drive - 2 keepers. Sony technical support indicated Memorex is not on their list of compatible media. Switched to the Sony media - no problems since. I've used other Memorex products (e.g. CDR's) in the past with good results. If you have the Sony drive, make sure to check the Sony support website first. Wish I had...
