Summary: Good radio for beginners /nice price
Review: This is a very good radio for folks just entering the world of shortwave listening . The radio has a very good sound from the built in speaker and the tuner on AM/FM and SW seem to be pretty good . I have compared this radio to the popular Sony sw11 which is Sony's analog mulitband equivalent ...the Sangean has much better sound and about the same level of selectivity from the tuner . The Sangean is also about $20 cheaper . My only knock on this radio is that even though the tried to keep the price down a telescoping antenna would have been nice . Other than that no real complaints . A very good buy !

Summary: Caution - easy to break, hard to repair with wrong adaptor
Review: This was a neat little radio, great to have with me when working in the garden etc. The main flaws were bad sound with weaker stations (while my other radio sounded almost perfect) and being hard to tune (the tuning wheel wasn't very responsive). However, being rather cheap, I didn't expect much more from it.
The reason why I don't have it any more though is that I accidentally broke it by using too high voltage (I have a variable voltage adaptor). I think it blew a fuse, this is usually a trivial thing to replace. However, this radio turned out to be virtually impossible to disassemble and repair with reasonable effort and tools that I had at home, so I ended up getting a different model from RadioShack.

Summary: Plug it in...plug it in...
Review: I assumed the radio would have a cord attached so I could plug it in. It didn't. I'll have to hunt around for an adaptor.
Other than that, it's a good little radio.

Summary: Terrible sound
Review: Although the tuner is quite sensitive to a signal, this radio's sound is simply terrible. After several attempts to pick up a local station, I literally smashed the stereo off of my garage floor in disgust. I'm now on the market for a Sony.

Summary: Happy listener
Review: A neat little radio, easily carried around the house. We live in the country with many trees but our local Public Broadcasting station on FM comes in extremely clear. This is what I wanted. I have not tried any short wave stations as yet.
As of today I could not be more pleased with my bargain.

Summary: Terrific Little Radio
Review: For the money - this radio is simply superb - I've got 3 of 'em! Batteries seem to last forever; during the evening I routinely receive AM stations from 1000+ miles away; Compact size and very good SW reception. For a low price - it's simply a "no brainer". Perfect for travel & easily powered by a small solar panel. Can't say enough good things about it.

Summary: Great multiband radio for the money
Review: I am very happy with this little radio. It has GREAT reception and clarity for a compact radio of this size. It picks up short wave stations with no problems. It is really worth the money I spent on it.

Summary: Critical component failed very quickly
Review: Less than a month after purchasing, and having been used perhaps 10 times, the flywheel connected to the tuner is stuck in one position. A radio that can't be tuned isn't of much use.

Summary: It's Good!
Review: I work in an office 40 mi outside of Chicago. It is very hard to pick up AM radio. This little beauty does the job. I also have a GE Super Radio. The SG-622 is just as effective. Well worth 30 bucks.
