Summary: Smaller than DT200V but less performance
Review: The DT200V for about $10-$20 less performs better, lacking only the DT300VW's weather band.The 300VW is a little smaller and lighter. Both are small enough for a shirt pocket, perhaps with a bit of sag. The weather band doesn't work very well, getting the same station on every channel on my DT300VW. The DT200V can be operated in the dark; this is impossible with the complex operation of the DT300VW. The performance difference is most noticeable on the AM band, where the DT200V does remarkably well in distance reception. The DT300VW uses AAA batteries instead of AA, and has a (unusual) subminiature jack on the earphone jacks, requiring an adapter (included) to use any other earphones.

Summary: This is a bad radio
Review: The earbugs are the worst I've ever seen.
The noise is so big even when you turn the radio volume to zero.
There is only one small case, which is really bad. The big case, which is shown in the pictures is not in the package.
If you've ever used other radioes before, you will not rate this product more than one star.

Summary: Versatile but fragile.
Review: This cigarette-pack sized radio has surprisingly clear sound. It is capable of getting a variety of TV and radio stations, very helpful when you want to listen to a TV show (news, for example). The fragility comes in if the unit is dropped or banged against a rigid surface. The first one I owned was dropped onto a tile floor from a height of about 18 inches and it quit - permanently. Nothing I knew could resurrect it. But by that time I was hooked, so I saved and got another one! This one I have in a neoprene camera case for travel, and it has been dropped and still functions. Now, after not quite a year, the earbud jack is doing the fade-in fade-out, first-the-left-ear now-the-right-ear-goes-out routine. REALLY ANNOYING. But I still like this unit for its ability to get TV stations. Also, it is very light - when it hangs from my belt, it is hardly noticeable. I would buy it again but treat it with care.

Summary: The editorial review is wrong
Review: This is a fine radio. The editorial review contains a big mistake, you don't lose your settings when you change batteries provided that you change them one by one (instead of removing both batteries, you should remove one, add a new one, remove the second one and add another new one). With this procedure I haven't lost my settings in the last two months. I like the radio, I only wish the AM reception was a little better.
I use different headphones and also have rechargeable batteries. With these accessories, the product is just fine.

Summary: One annoying problem
Review: This is a great little radio. The reception is good, the design is slick, and the battery life is great. One of the cons in the Amazon.com review isn't completely accurate. The radio will keep your presets if you replace the batteries quickly. As long as the amount of time the radio doesn't have any batteries in it is only a few seconds, the memory isn't erased. My complaint is the headphone jack. The connection on mine became loose after only a few months of use. I use mine at work and it just sits on my desk all day. It doesn't get treated severely or abusively. Once or twice a day I'll switch my headphones from the radio to my computer, and I guess that wore out the jack. Now I have to jiggle the headphone plug in the jack to get sound in both ears. Without jiggling, I just get sound in my right ear. I'm really disapointed because otherwise this was the best portable radio I've ever had.

Summary: Nice radio
Review: This is a very nice radio to have around all the time, at home and when traveling. It is very small (about the size of a deck of bridge cards) and I take it backpacking and all all of my trips. I'm on my second one, first one stolen. Weather brodcasts are a real nice touch, you don't have to wait for a TV or Radio announcement of the weather, when you can get the report and forecast direct from the NWS. TV, FM and AM all work great. Good memory setting features of about 10 for each band. The Alarm is another nice feature when traveling. Also nice is the internal speaker, which is rare on a radio this small with this many bands and features. The fidelity is all that you would expect from a 1" speaker, but it is fine for what is is for like listening to news or a talk radio show. The audio is stereo on the headphones on AM and is of very high quality on the headphones for all bands (TV, WX, AM and FM(stereo)). My only negative comment is minor, relating to battery life. I have used alkaline and rechargables and I seem to only get about 8 - 12 hours, which is sufficient, but adds up over time. I recommend the use of rechargable NiMh batteries with this unit to keep the operating costs down if you use it frequently as I do.

Summary: good but......
Review: this little radio has great reception, pulling in distant stations clearly and producing good sound with deep bass. unfortunately after about 6 months of intermittent use the headphone socket became loose and the plug would move and the signal went out to one of the earbuds. i tried to contact the company but got no reply. no service at all. no answer to emails or phonecalls!! too bad.

Summary: Idiosyncracies downgrade its usefulness
Review: This radio has a microplug which can only be used with the included, buds which I've not been able to use successfully. It requires a proprietary adapter to use headphones with standard miniplugs. Quality of reception varies with the length of the headphones used as with all "antenna-less" units. I've found that reception in my choice of stations is best with long (3+ feet) phones which are, then, clumsy due to the length of the wires. Indoor reception appears to be readily degraded by any amount of steel in building structure, as might be found in any modern office building. Battery life is dramatically shortened when the built in speaker is used. If these features/lack thereof are not important to one's usual usage, this radio is nicely compact.
