Summary: CD-RW Compatiblity
Review: Because of Sony's lack of responsibility for testing some of its products, this is definently one of them. Im a stickler for clarity, and people, if you're looking for a unit with CD-RW compatibility, this isnt it. Go to www.us.aiwa.com and look for the XP-ER800N. Clarity would be average. Besides that bass is pretty good. The unit could use some help with value, but besides that it perfectly good. I think ill give it a 4.

Summary: Another Excellent Product from Sony
Review: I bought this used on eBay and paid less than $45 with insured shipping. What a deal! I did lots of research and really wanted one with fm/am compatibility for the YMCA where they have a bunch of TVs with assigned coordinating radio stations. I have to watch my Trading Spaces! I have accidently tested it numerous times by being a dork and dropping it; it has never skipped. Also, it really holds the battery charge. And when you do need to replace them, the task has never been easier: a built-in compartment where the cd goes - no tools required. The preset radio station features are a snap. As far as CD-Rs, I can not attest since I don't have any, but it plays all of my store-purchased ones with great sound and I love the Bass. In the Y, sometimes I can't even get a cell phone signal, but the radio stations come in clear and crisp. If you're going to fork out big bucks for a cd with radio options, I'd probably recommend one that is more sporty looking, but if you're going second-hand, this winner is second to none. HAPPY LISTENING!

Summary: * B A S S * ! ! ! Sony packs an awesome bass boost on this!
Review: I haven't heard this much bass on a "Discman" or other portable cd player since the early nineties when you had to put in four "AA" size batteries into an extremely large, bulky Discman whose battery life would be no more than eight hours. Speaking of battery life, this little guy can go for 40 hours of continuous cd playing (literally 1000% longer than the old Sony Discman players, because it uses two "AA" batteries, not four), and 70 hours radio/TV play. THE BASS *ROARS* AT YOU! The player has a built-in preamp that "centers" the bass so it sounds like you're standing directly in front of a powered subwoofer. I'm so thrilled about the D-FJ210, that I am going to buy the less expensive car kit unit, the DEJ368CK, just because I don't know if Sony will make bass like this in another CD Walkman anytime again soon!

The only complaints that I have are that the headphone jack is on the left (not really a big deal) and the tv/weather/radio reception is quite poor. Other than those two issues, this is a fine portable cd player. I recommend the Sony DFJ210 to any bassheads out there.

Summary: There are better players out there
Review: I previously had a Sony Walkman that played well, and I had no complaints. That one broke(because of carelessness on my part), and I bought this product, since I was looking into something with a digital tuner. Everything was fine. The sound quality is excellent, and I have no complaints about the tuner. The part that sucks about this player is that it doesn't play CD-R's and CD-RW's well. It plays well for a while, but then the sound messes up, as if it is skipping continuously, and it doesn't stop. The exact same CD plays on my other older Sony products fine, but not on this one. It's like this CD player was falsely advertised. For anyone who plays a lot of CD-RW's and CD-R's on their player, there are better Sony products out there. For anyone who only plays regular store-bought CD's on their player, there should be no complaints, since it plays those fine.

Summary: great features and great value
Review: I puchased this cd player refurbished in a Sony store for about a third of the retail price and I love it. I have dropped it off the counter and it still works perfectly. It has AM and FM radio plus you can even get TV stations! The sound quality is good but you may need to buy a different pair of headphones than the ones that come with it and you can store alot of radio stations. I am pretty good with electronics and find it easy to operate, but if your not it comes with an instruction manual that explains things well. I would recomend this item to anyone who ask about it and a good gift for all age groups.

Summary: The Music Maven
Review: I was completely dissapointed with this CD Walkman because it cannot play CD-R disks. I have a much older Panasonic that never claimed to play CD-Rs and it does a much better job. Naturally, I called Best Buy and the Sony "help line" and neither was any help at all. If you are looking for a CD player that can play your CD-Rs, go to another brand.

Also, I learned early on that the remote has so many functions tht it does not operate reliably. Try to turn off the CD player and you may turn on the radio, and burn out your batteries as a result. I lost several sets of batteries before I learned to check that the thing was off before putting it away.

As I am reading on several other reviews of Sony products, they have become arrogant and remote and do not give a damn about consumers. This product is inferior; it does not perform as advertised. Choose a different brand if you want good performance. This one is a not worth the money

Summary: POOR PIECE OF EQUIPMENT
Review: I was VERY dissapointed with this player. Right out of the box it could not pick up an of my FM stations I listen to. Reception was very poor no matter how I positioned the unit or the cord. I only live 15 miles from the city so I was amazed it couldnt pick any thing up. AM reception was better though. CD playback was very good wtih nice sound and tone, but the buttons on the unit are so small it takes a real effort to push the right thing. The little remote is just as bad. Also it had no line out jack to play on amplified speakers and it does not come with a DC adaptor to run it off of wall current. Instruction manual is poor also with small print and poor directions. The design of the unit is nice with battery compartment tucked neatly inside the player. One last comment: I have never seen FM reception this poor on a radio. I had to go outside and I only picked up two stations then. Maybe I just got a bad unit but I cant reccommened with his bad experience.
