Summary: Not Even Good for Coasters!
Review: About 1 out of 5 of these discs ended up in the garbage. I only burn at 4X and even still, 1/5 of them reported an error. I've had my CD burner for a year and a half and have never had this problem with Memorex, Imation, or Fugi discs.

I bought these because of the Sony name... but trust me when i tell you - STICK TO MEMOREX!

Summary: sony cd-r's are some real junk-12-12-03
Review: I bought a hundred, at KMart, for a project that needed done. So I spent the few bux more to buy Sony CD-R's. I'm getting a 30% failure rate. So I hunted around (spending more and more of my time here...) and got ahold of sony per the 800 number. Their position? (Other than that fact that the very first thing on their tape is not 'welcome to Sony' it's 'If you've had a failure with A, press one, if you've had a failure with B, press two, etc') That I should package up and ship my four boxes of Sony off to some PO Box, at MY EXPENSE, and they'll replace them. Sheesh. Why didn't I just buy Verbatim CD-R's (Ive had no problem with those) or what ever the cheapie brand might be at one of the big chains (Ive had no problem with those, either). So if you're looking for media, don't shop Kmart, and don't shop Sony. Happy holidays, everyone.

Summary: Greate burns! Sony is top of the line
Review: I have been using these CDRs for the past few years. I have never had any problems with them. I am a very cautious burner though. I never burn faster than 4x. Burning any faster will increase the risk of problems with bad burns. I use only these Sony CDRs (or their "audio formatted" version). I stay away from generics or cheap brands (anything you can easily see through; CompUSA, etc). Spend a few cents extra per disc and you will be rewarded.

Summary: Good product, but low lifetime
Review: I never had any problems writing the disk, unlike the other reviewers. Infact, I have bought these twice and may be 2 or 3 out of the 100 had problems, while writing.

But my problem is an entirely different one: they don't last long. The lifespan of a CD is probably 20 times playing entire CD, and I guess it makes sense to expect more. After this time, the tracks skip.

If you don't frequently listen to CDs and maintain them well, then this would be a good product for you.

Summary: HORRIBLE DISKS!
Review: Not one of the 50 CDs worked. Not one. I thought it was my drive but then tried memorex CDs and they worked perfectly. I will never buy a Sony CD again. I ended up having to throw out the entire set of 50 because the store wouldn't take them back. I've read similar things about the Sony CD-R 700MB discs on other websites. I'm not sure why they don't recall these because the do not work, plain and simple.

Summary: These are the worst discs I've ever bought.....
Review: PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU REALLY WANT INFORMATION ON HOW THESE DISCS PREFORM. SORRY FOR THE LENGHT. I'm a big fan of sony products. my t.v., stereo, computer, cd burner, and even my entertainment system is made by sony. I just bought my sony 40x burner last week so i figured i'd buy high speed sony discs for it. I've always used sony discs but that doesn't say much because i only burned at 8x. at any rate, i burnt a few discs and everything seemed fine. Or so i thought. later i tried to listen to them and my cd player could only read the first two tracks(the end of the second tracks were always poping). I'm a huge music collector and have collected over 740 live concerts that i store on cds. With past experience, i quickly realized that these discs weren't keeping up with 40x. That is very unusual. a 32x disc should keep up. and if it can't the burner should report an error. Even when i dropped speed to 32x i experienced similar problems. I was so pist that i drove to Best Buy, bought some fuji 1-24x discs and burnt all of them at 40x with no problems. To sum my ramblings up, I am very dissapointed in sony for producing a disc that doesn't preform as advertised. I was warned by many people of these problems before i bought these discs but i couldn't beleive that sony would make discs that couldn't keep up with their own burner even at the proper 32x speed. So if your a serious burner with commercial interests in mind DO NOT BUY THESE DISCS. I've had good luck with the fujis and a couple other high end brands. I've had memorex discs that have lost their information over a few years, and sharpie markers that have bled through and ruined discs, but those were moments of my own stupidity. don't use sharpies on discs and never buy memorex. Those were my mistakes and i learned. The reason i'm righting this is because i did everything by the book. these discs FAILED. So to keep other consumers from making a bad mistake TAKE MY ADVICE AND PICK ANOTHER HIGH END BRAND!!!!!!!
