Description:
The Visioneer One Touch 8800 is a high-resolution, easy-to-use colorflatbed scanner. Seven already configured buttons provide all you need to perform basic operations--scan, copy, fax, OCR, email, custom, and stop. The 8800's FlashBack bidirectional Autoscan Technology allows you to scanin both directions, saving you time. Rather than wait for a second pass,the 8800 scanner prescans, crops edges, and reverses directionautomatically. The result is a high-resolution scan, with 1,200 x 2,400 dpioptical resolution and true 42-bit color. The 8800 scans at speeds four times faster than other USB scanners and upto two times faster than firewire-based scanners. This is because files arecompressed before sending, thanks to Visioneer's JPEG EnhancementTechnology (JET) compression engine. This compression, which is great fore-mailing photos, can be turned off for better-quality documents. The 8800 scanner has a USB interface and is compatible with Windows 95/98,SE/2000, and Windows ME. It features a professional software bundle thatincludes ScanSoft's PaperPort Deluxe 7.0, TextBridge Pro 8.0, AdobePhotoShop LE, and Visioneer's Scan Manager Pro, which incorporates amultilevel zoom that is activated by a mouse.
