Mustek's Plug-n-Scan 1200ED scanner is easy to use and employs Bit Depth Increased Technology (BDIT) to capture 30-bit images and enhance them to 48-bit, 280 trillion-color GIF or JPEG files. It scans with an optical resolution of 600 x 1,200 dpi, but Mustek's software can further enhance the resolution to 19,200 dpi. The 1200ED's enhanced parallel port permits a quick connection to your PC. Plus, if you're already using a parallel printer, you'll enjoy the convenience of the 1200ED's extra pass-through port to plug your printer into.Direct Scan and TextBridge software accompany the 1200ED and make for a painless scanning process. If you need more editing control over the 1200ED's images, you can export them as needed to any TWAIN- or TWAIN32-compliant software. The 1200ED is a low-end economical scanner similar to Mustek's popular new 1200CP but with a different light source and less emphasis on OCR functions.
