Rating: Summary: not good for batch scanning Review: as mentioned before, this scanner takes up to 15 sec to adjust the lamp before each scan. it therefore is one of the slowest scanners around. the only thing is excels in is moire/descreening. it is 2x faster than other scanners we use. color pages at 300dpi take 15sec + 26sec (usb2) color pages at 300dpi w/ descreening 15+40sec if not for the stupid scan driver readjusting the lamp each scan, it would be a great scanner.
Rating: Summary: I Love This Scanner Review: Hi all, I just wanted to mention a few things about my new Canon D1250U2 Scanner I bought from Amazon.com. On the day I received this product I had it installed and scanning photos within 15 minutes after unpacking. Everything was straight forward and easy to apply. The ArcSoft software for photo detail and applications is great and the results are just wonderful. I highly recommend this unit, it serves the purpose of scanning for all general needs. Thanks Canon,
Rating: Summary: A GOOD SCANNER AT A GREAT PRICE! Review: I bought this scanner due to its low price and the many reviews that gave it it high marks for its scanned images. Canon also offers the D1250U2F model which allows you to scan film and slides. Since I mainly wanted a scanner to scan documents (not photos) and since I have a computer with a USB 2.0 port, I chose the D1250U2 model instead. I've had it a couple weeks and am very happy with the quality of the scans. The buttons on the front of the scanner can be set to start your custom applications when pressed and I can scan documents at 600DPI in a few seconds. I haven't had any problems using the scanner with Windows XP. I did contact Canon since there was no mention of the D1250U2 drivers on their site. I was told to download the latest drivers and software for the D1250U2F (which I did) since both scanners are basically the same model. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
Rating: Summary: Good scans Review: I got a great deal on this scanner so I couldn't pass it up. I did initially have some installation issues in windows XP that took some time to get straightened out. The scanner produces nice scans and is very fast via the USB 2.0 connection. But over the last few months I've devoloped a weird haze on the underside of the glass and Canon seems less than enthusiastic about fixing or replacing it. I don't notice any difference in the scans, but my guess is that the haze will only get worse and will eventually effect the scans.

Rating: Summary: Best Value for money Review: I have been shopping around for a scanner and none can beat the deal on this scanner. It has one of the highest resolution on its class. Interpolation makes the pictures somewhat quite fuzzy and grainy but it the capability makes it a nice addition to the item.
Rating: Summary: GREAT PRICE....TOP OF THE LINE SCANNER Review: I highly recommend this scanner for anybody in the market for a scanner. The scanner uses USB 2.0 which makes the scanning speed much quicker then USB 1.1. Speed distinguishes this scanner from almost any of the other scanners in the market today. The quality is just as good as any of the top-of-the-line scanners. Enjoy
Rating: Summary: Does the job. Review: I must confirm with the other reviewers that the adjusting the lamp for every scan is a little annoying, but the multi-photo feature does save time in the scanning process. It's a great deal for 50 dollars.

Rating: Summary: Perfect for home use and a great bargain! Review: I needed a reasonably priced, easy-to-use scanner to copy photos and documents into a genealogy program. After several weekends at the electronics and computer stores, and even more hours online, I purchased this scanner (on a Sunday night, and received it Tuesday! WOW!). It was easy to hookup (it just took seconds) and the software, though it looks very complicated, is very easy to use. My scanner is working great with Windows XP (it comes with specific instructions about installing with the XP operating system) and is fast enough for my needs. I am very pleased with it, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a scanner for personal use.
