Summary: Great for webpage
Review: We take a lot of pictures, but I can't convince my wife to move to a digital camera. That leaves me with the problem of getting all of our snap-shots posted on our webpage. I have a regular full-size flat bed scanner, but I hated scanning pictures with it because it took forever to do each picture, it did not have one-button scan and also took up a ton of desk space. I started exploring for a small photo scanner. I found this scanner and one from photoscanner... Both are small. The HP is only 300x300dpi where the photoscanner... one is 600x1200 dpi. However, the photoscanner...one is $[money]and the HP is only $[money]. I choose the HP and have been very happy. It is quick and provides nice quality for webpages, but not great printable quality. However, if you need a photo scanner to scan photos AND PRINT THEM, I would suggest that get something else. Again, if you just need to post to the web or email them, this is going to be just fine.

Review: Works like a photocopier--couldn't be easier and more convenient. Plus, the software that comes with it is simple and easy to use. True, it only scans up to 4X6, but that's all I bought it for.

Summary: Limited Purpose Scanner
Review: Works well for the limited purpose for which it apparently was designed -- scanning snapshots for web or other computer use. (Excellent for genealogy use as one reviewer suggested.) Note that it is USB-powered, which makes it convenient for portable use with laptop since no power adapter is needed. Hard to find this item elsewhere -- may be being discontinued. Not a bad deal at the reduced price w/rebate.
