Summary: Great Deal!
Review: This is an incredibly easy to use package. I use Windows XP Home Edition. The scanner was up and running with all programs installed within a half hour. I have scanned photos AND negatives with no problem and what I consider to be excellent results. The ONLY reason I didn't rate a "5" star was the negative slide holder should be a little sturdier and should lock in place somehow. I don't like how it slides on the glass when you are lining it up. It hasn't scratched the glass yet. It seems like this could happen with a lot of use, however. You'd be hard pressed to get a better scanner with the same quality/ features and software in this price range!

Summary: NOT MAC FRIENDLY
Review: A very misleading reviewer on here discusses this scanner's use with Macs. It does NOT work with Macs, so don't be misled. I bought it based on the rave reviews on here and the review about its Mac compatibility. Don't waste your time like I did.

Summary: Most bang for the buck
Review: I tried and compared several(most reviewed) scanners, and this scanner is the clear winner. The scanner produces best 'honest' colors from the picture and film and you can see that by level/curve tool from photoshop. A few other scanners produce sharper looking images, but the the color is not exactly same as original. Bottom line: if your sw does auto color or auto level, this is the best one feeding true duplication of your picture .... The quality of film scanning is fantastic. Just find the best deal like here in amazon.

Summary: Quality Problem
Review: Agree with the review titled "Poor Picture Quality". The scanned photos look dark and VERY blurry. I scanned the same photo with this scanner and CanonScan N1220U, the picture gotten from the later is MUCH clearer (but on the other hand, the later scans slower and louder). I had to return it (not bought from Amazon).

The bright side is that the softwares are easy to install in my Win-2000 machine.

Summary: Macintosh Users READ THIS
Review: Excellent scanner. Easy to setup and use. Fantastic quality. Notice that if you have a Mac G3 B & W series (not G4's) you will probably experience problems with the scanner not receiving enough power through the USB cable. This can result in failure to use the Preview option (since it requires some extra power due to the faster mechanical movement). Solution: attach scanner directly to computer USB port, not screen or keyboard ports. Also disable other USB devices such as printers, tablets or energy craving mice/joysticks etc. Or buy a power supplied USB hub perhaps.

Summary: Great scanner, great software.
Review: The scanner is great. It only takes a few seconds to scan. The software is awesome, too. You can set the focus, color, brightness, and everything manually with the neat program. Then you can reduce the size of the picture, which reduces the size of the memory. The picture is very clear, and it's thin enough to fit almost anywhere. It prints very clear, and everything is easy to operate. The price seems a bit too much, but it fits its quality.

Summary: Great Scanner
Review: This is the first Canon Scanner that I have purchased. I am normally an Epson fan. This was so easy to hook up it took me all of 10 minutes. I think it took me longer to unpack the scanner then it did to hook it up. I love the scanners ability to scan slides and negatives. I have enlarged the slides and negative scans to 5x7 size without any distortion using top of the line photo editing software and I am very impressed. Dollar for Dollar I feel that this is one of the best buys on the market at this time. It is a great scanner for beginners and also for experienced photo editing persons. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good inexpensive scanner.

Summary: Poor Picture Quality
Review: I owned this scanner for 2 days before sending back. I found the quality of photo scans was not very good. They were too dark, and slightly blurry. I was replacing a 5 year old HP scanner and compared several 600x600dpi scans of the same photos from both scanners, and I liked the HP scans significantly better. I was looking for the USB 2.0 to speed up the scans and get a higher resolution, but it looks like I will have to wait a little longer.

Summary: Good buy for the price
Review: This was my first time trying to buy a scanner to go with my printer and PC. I was overwhelmed with all the reviews and information on scanners. I bought the Cannon D125OU2F scanner based on price and the film negative scan feature. I was not disapointed. Easy to install, I was scanning in no time. The instructions made it simple and easy to use. Since I am a novice I don't know what I am missing in the other equipment, and for a first time purchase, this was an excellent choice.

Summary: Its was good
Review: I liked it a lot, I bought it and I was sort of frustrated in the begining but once I got the hang of it and how to scan the pictures, the quality was EXCELENT, and for its price I think its just amazing.
