Summary: Great scanner
Review: Received this scanner for Christmas and have already emailed and copied. Very quick, great color and black and white images very crisp. Good support system and loads onto Windows 98 very easily and quickly. Good buy for the price.

Summary: Easy to use and great scans-even my Mom can use it!
Review: Simplicity in use, a snap to set up, and beautiful scan results make this the perfect scanner for home or home office. I had the first scan saved on my hard drive 15 minutes after carrying the box in my house.

The three-button controls are all you need and the scan speed is fast and smooth. USB connection could not be easier. The software enables you to send the scans directly to imaging programs, email or documents (and optimize them before sending or saving them).

Using the scanner as a copier is a snap, too. The only thing that is a little strange is a series of tentative starts before the first scan after several days of inactivity. This must be a reset of some sort, as my mother has the same scanner and hers does the same thing. After the first scan, however, all subsequent scans happen the first time every time.

The HP 4200 Cse is not the cheapest scanner on the market for the same resolution and features, but it gives great quality output and, I have to say it, it is a Hewlett-Packard product.

Having used two different 4200 Cse scanners for the last six months, I would recommend this model to anyone who needs a consumer-level scanner.

Summary: beware!
Review: The scanner was easy to use when you could get the software to operate properly. More often than not it would not bring up the program...and then it died. I would not purchase this product or any other HP scanner again. Although I love my HP printer.

Summary: Easy use 4200cse
Review: This scanner is one of the easy ones I have had the pleasure to work with. I use it when I have to retouch a picture or when I need to send a fax. The resolution is very accurate and the colors are right on the money. I've used mine for quite a while now and have had no problems from it. When I have a document the OCR software that came with it works well. I can send a document over to MSword that has maybe has some mistakes the OCR takes care of the problem and makes a great document. You can scan multiple pictures and send it to your imaging software and with it you can make pefect presentations. With the three buttons on the front there is no mistake about where it is to go. I just can't say enough good things about it. I'd say it's probably the best value for your money that you'll find.
