Rating: Summary: This scanner is not supported with Windows XP Review: I've had this scanner for 2 years and have had good luck with it. Then my husband upgraded to Windows XP. Unfortunately, Visioneer does not support this scanner with Windows XP and I've had nothing but problems since the upgrade. The scanner driver locks up and sometimes I'm unable to print from the PaperPort software. This requires much rebooting to resolve itself and just because it prints or scans once doesn't mean it will do it again. I recommend you buy a newer model unless you have no plans on upgrading your OS for a few years.
Rating: Summary: terrible tech support Review: Purchased the unit and returtnerd it the same day. The software appeared not to be compatable with win 98. Anyway it did not work. The tech support was awfull. Returned the product andwould not recommend

Rating: Summary: One great scanner! Review: This is an excellent scanner and very easy to use. The one touch feature makes this a very user friendly scanner. I have been able to scan old family photos without wanting to pull my hair out. The scanner could be faster, but excellent color quality is worth the wait!
Rating: Summary: SLOW, SLOW, SLOW! Review: This scanner may be great for occasional use, but in my opinion it's virtually useless for anyone who needs to scan 5 or more sheets in the course of a typical workday, and a total joke if you're trying to scan a lot of documents. Why? First, a ***45 second*** warm-up period is required. This warm-up doesn't just happen once or twice in a workday...Nope, anytime I haven't used the scanner in the past *few minutes*, I have to wait a full 45 seconds again. Then, to add insult to injury, the scan itself is INCREDIBLY slow. Like pulling teeth. I mean, I have on occasion checked email, sent an email, checked voicemail, *and* opened snail mail before it's done scanning a single sheet of *text*! (Unfortunately, at least on my unit text is scanned almost as slowly as graphics, and, unlike other scanners I've used, adjusting image quality downward makes **no appreciable improvement** in scan time.) I had a nifty little serial port sheet-fed Visioneer scanner that was like a cheeta compared to this turtle. Visioneer tech support was no help at all -- said something like "Oh, yeah, our USB flatbeds can be extremely slow." Well, it would have been courteous of Visioneer to warn its loyal returning customers of that "minor issue" with a speed comparison on the carton.
Rating: Summary: Good scanner Review: Very easy to use. OCR software is great, handling my blurry text with only a few errors. Good quality photo scanning with software for adjusting the photos.
Rating: Summary: Showed promise, but in the end... Review: With great glibness, the saleperson said it would be "a snap". In fact, it proved to be unreliable (defective product, or typical of the line?). I would not recommend this. I returned it three days later.
