Summary: Good Scanner
Review: I got this scanner with my computer system. It works really well. I like it when you press one of the buttons on the scanner and it auto-crops the thing you are scanning automatically. If you have Win 2k, the drivers that are on the cd will not work. Just go to windows update to get it to work.

Summary: Never got rebate
Review: I just bought this scanner the middle of February, 2003. I liked it's resolution and ease of use. It now will not scan. I tried to contact the manufacturer since it is under a 1 year warranty. They do not have a toll free number or email address. Since it is not in production the web site suggests calling their 900 number for $2 per minute. If on hold for 8 minutes I will have spent the same amount that I paid for the scanner. The warranty info on the web site shows their warranty as 3 month initial, then if the item is replaced they will extend it for an additional 9 months making it a 12 month warranty. Although I initally liked it and the ones that my mother-in-law and brother-in-law bought do still work (they rarely use them) I am looking for a new scanner and will not by a Visioneer product.

Summary: Great Scanner
Review: I just got this scanner, followed the quick install directions (on my Win XP machine) and everything worked perfectly right away. Peaple love to blame XP for their software problems when 95% of the time the real problem is some other "junk" software they installed at one time. Scanner is quick for USB 1 and the scans look great.

Summary: One-touch copier button.
Review: I only needed a scanner and a copier but didn't want to buy one of the all-in-one multifunction machines. This scanner has a one-touch copier button that has meant my needs quite well.

Summary: Great Scanner
Review: I purchased this scanner in June and have been using it almost daily since. When this unit arrived everything needed for set up and scanning was in the box.
The installation guide is laid out so well that a person with no technical knowledge should be able to install and run this scanner with no problems. Software installation was very easy. Learning the operation of the one-touch buttons took about 5 minutes. Using the Visioneer Scan Master Pro screen to set up scans does require some practice but it is also very user friendly.

Summary: Paperweight anyone?
Review: I run Windows XP and this scanner crashes every time I try to use it. Sometimes it will scan ONE picture and then it just goes crazy, making terrible noises and just staying stuck. So it has pretty much turned into a large paperweight on the desk. I bought it because I really liked my previous Visioneer scanner--so easy to use--but I didn't use Windows XP then.

Summary: a good deal
Review: I think this scanner works great! I am using WinXP pro and I had the scanner working in minutes.

I use twain to scan and have not used the one button features yet, I may never use them as the twain interface is more to my liking.

I think if you are looking for a good basic scanner this is a good choice.

Update: I've been using this scanner for a couple of weeks now and I like it even more...its not fast at higher resolutions but it produces excellent scans and I would recommend it to anyone, with the free shipping and rebate its unbeatable.
