Summary: Wow. What a bargain!!!
Review: I was in the market for an inexpensive scanner. I tried 2 different HP scanners, neither of which were worth the plastic they were cased in. They were both returned to Staples and as a last resort I picked this one up from Circuit City for $49.99. Plugged it right in to the USB port on my XP machine and was up and running. The Canon software is great, far batter then HP I must say. Quality of the scans is fantastic. It is not super fast but it scans at a good pace. The best part is that it turns scanned documents right in PDF files which is nice. I would HIGHLY recommend this scanner for an expensive solution for your scanning needs.

Summary: IF YOU LIKE SIMPLE TO USE AND INEXPENSIVE GET THIS!
Review: This was my first scanner. It was a snap to set up. The manual is simple to follow. I really like the simplicity of the operation and I especially like the ability to turn scans into a PDF file with the touch of a button. The scans are excellent for my purposes. Whether the dcoument is a photo, newspaper or color magazine article, this does it all. The three buttons in the front work very well too. In a day when when most products are hyped and you are later dissappointed, this is a grand product that anyone can afford! If you were thinking about getting a scanner, think no more. My advice is run out today an get one.

Summary: An incredible deal on a great scanner
Review: I have owned many expensive scanners in my 21 years of computing, but this little wonder leaves me speechless. It set up on two XP computers without a single problem, works like it is supposed to and the buttons on front work great and can be set the way you want them. I have sold several friends on this scanner... by far the best deal for double the price.

Summary: Affordable, and it delivers the best results.
Review: If you are in need of a scanner, this is the one to purchase.
This scanner delivers the best scanned results, better than
any high priced model. First, all you have to do is insert the
installation CD, then follow directions to installing the
Programs. Then, hook the scanner's usb cable to your computer,
it's that simple. This was my first time using and working with
scanners. I had to take time to figure out how to use some of
the programs, and functions to size and resize my photos.

The scanner has functions on how to lighten and darken photos.
There are functions for worn black and white photos, to touch
them up and produce clear finishes.
There are functions to scan colored documents, text documents, etc.
And there's a function titled, advanced mode, where you can
resize your photos to download them on the internet, and to email
photos, etc. Don't let the price turn you away, thinking,
"Oh, this scanner is too cheap to be any good."
This scanner is just as good as any high priced, maybe better.
But you be the judge, try it, I bet you'll be amazed of the
performance.
I highly recommend this product.

Summary: Easy scanning and no power cord
Review: I needed a scanner to put pictures on a web store. This is perfect for that. The scanning is easy (one touch). Even better, I don't need to plug it in; it uses the power from the USB cable. I recommend this scanner for those needing an inexpensive, lower resolution scanner like I do. If you need higher resolution try the LIDE 30 or one of the higher end scanners. I've used HP and Microtek; both worked great. It takes 15 seconds to do a scan which is acceptable to me. Also, the software that comes with the scanner was enough for me to manipulate the image as needed.

Summary: Great scanner.
Review: I bought this scanner to replace my old bulky UMAX scanner about a month ago. I am very satisfied with this product. As many of the reviewers have pointed out, it is cheap, light, versatile, and works great! But if you are much more sensitive to resolution than the general population, consider the LiDE 30.

Summary: great price, great scanner for home use
Review: After a thorough, exhaustive search through lots of reviews, I decided to buy the CanoScan LiDE 20. I was looking for a decent quality scanner for home use at a LOW, LOW price. I can't say how pleasantly surprised I am. Installation went well with Win98SE. The photo scans are great. I don't have to order photos online or on disk anymore. I can scan them quickly and post them on the internet for friends/family. You can manipulate the photo with lots of tools in the photo software. You can even freehand crop things from your photos!
When scanning documents, you should use the lowest dpi setting that gets the job done. No need to scan at 600dpi when 300dpi does fine and scans quicker.

Most of the other postive reviews say it all. GREAT SCANNER FOR THE PRICE - BUY IT!
