Summary: No Problems At All
Review: I almost didnt buy this MFD because of the negative reviews but boy am I glad that I threw caution to the wind. After a year of printing regular docs on my LExmark X73, I bought a digital camera and found that the X73 would lock up about 3 inches into printing a picture. After two weeks of trading emails with LExmark Tech Support, they copped out and blamed it on the application I was using. Pretty weak argument given that I couldnt print using 4 different photo applications! Do yourself a favor, stay away for Lexmark products. So, I bought the 6110 last night, had it hooked up in less than 15 minutes following the installation poster to load the software on a Windows XP system, hook up the printer, and print my first test photos. Thats when I was left in awe. This was a "test print" so I didnt massage the photos at all from my Fuji 3800 (Great Camera by the way) or use HP's photo paper or even swap to the photo ink cartridge. I used some old glossy photo paper and printed two 5x7's on one 8.5x11 sheet. When I grabbed the print as it popped out of the printer, I couldnt believe my eyes. I cant find any dot patterns at all, the colors are as true as when I was standing there taking the picture and overall is every bit as good as a print from a photo processor. I Highly recommend this product.

Summary: Exactly what I wanted!
Review: I wanted a printer, copier, scanner, and fax machine that would print in color as well as BW, be easy to set up and use. I wanted a flat bed copier for copying from books as well as a sheet-fed copier/fax for multipage documents. This one fit the bill. The print quality is great, parts are easily put together, paper easy to load, all functions easy to set up and use. It looks good, takes up little space, is quiet and fast. An extra, nice-to-have feature is the reduction/enlargement copy feature. I could finally reclaim space used by my old scanner, printer, fax--all of which were separate appliances. I've had the 6110 only 3 weeks and just the fax feature has more than earned the price I paid for it. The fact that a USB cable was not included with the 6110 was no problem. With all of the machines I've had, I wound up with extra cables so I didn't need to purchase one. I love this machine and am completely satisfied with the quality and functionality of my Office Jet 6110. Forgot to mention, I use it with my Win XP-HE with no problems at all.

Summary: Get machine!
Review: I needed to replace a fax machine and also wanted something that could scan onto our computer which runs on Windows XP. This printer really works well. I have received many faxes and also sent a few. No problems at all. The print quality is excellent and it is very easy to scan. The only thing I haven't done is print photos. Set up was very easy -- it installed quickly on XP with no problems. I would highly recommend this machine.

Summary: Big promises, big problems.
Review: I bought the HP Office Jet 6110 All in One because I am working from home and need copying, faxing, scanning and appreciate the compact size of this machine. Upon receiving it from HP, I realize that HP does not include the USB cable. That's the first annoying thing. You get everything hooked up, and HP leaves out this cable! Why? As soon as the software was downloaded, I began to get error messages on my screen and those other messages that say "this program has performed an illegal function". Printing was fast, except it stalled after one or two pages! There was no deleting documents from the "queing" file. I went to the HP website to get "technical assistance" the kind where no human is there, only links to questions other people have asked. You could go crazy wandering around this enormous website trying to input your question. For example, my printer would "delay" and not print so at hp.com I typed "delay" and "printer". Hundreds of items came up--seemingly unrelated to my question. My other complaint is that the parts in this machine are [] plastic and poorly designed. The ink cartridges are held in place by really brittle plastic holders that are difficult to operate. The feeder tray does not snap into place. The paper feeder is a guessing game as to how the paper loads. All in all, this all in one is another example of trying to do too much and achieving too little.

Summary: Excellent and economical office multifunction device.
Review: This well-rated machine fully lived up to expectations. Color copies are high-quality, the 33.3 kbps modem is faster than most (28.8) so faxes move along briskly. Document and graphics scanning is more than adequate, and included software lets you do basic touchups. The included OCR software accurately places editable text in a word processor for further editing [haven't challenged capabilies with more complex layouts such as newspapers or magazines, however]. After 3 months of moderate use, I'm still printing with the original cartridges [the two-way 'HP Director' shows how much ink remains in each cartridge--neat]. My one problem has been the flimsy plastic automatic document feeder (ADF) guide that inserts into the ADF with two little tabs. I never achieved a solid fit, so that each time the scanner lid was lifted, the ADF guide slid out. Eventually, one of the supporting feet broke off after yet another drop, so that the guide is even more unstable...this is a fine and solid machine, well-suited for a home office with useful software included. Do note this is an USB (not parallel) cable connection, so make sure your computer has USB.

Summary: Good printing, Horrible Fax
Review: If your primary use for this machine is as a fax/copier then don't get it! We sent the first of these back after HP told us that it was defective. The second one had the same defect. Maybe the term is "design flaw"! The machine was saving every fax that it recieved in its memory. After about a week the memory was full and some of the features (such as copy) stopped working. HP informed us that to clear the memory we had to print out all faxes in memory (what a waste of time, paper, and ink since we had already recieved all the faxes) or we could unplug the machine for a while then plug it back in. Sure enough, unplugging it worked, but isn't this unreasonable. What if someone is trying to send you a fax over the weekend, the paper or ink is out, and the memory is full? The thing just won't work! Isn't that what the memory is for anyway?! HP said there was no way to turn the memory function off either. If you don't plan to use the fax often, then this is a very nice machine. The print quality is very good and the six color photo cartridge option is excellent. It is fast enough and the control panel is very easy to use. Of course, we didn't have it very long to determine durability (only a few weeks). We used it as a stand alone unit, so I don't know how well the software / scanner features worked.

What a great surprise, after reading about all the problems with other machines(both HP, Canon, Brother, Epson etc...) I was really expecting some problems with setup and use.
What a great suprise, the setup was easy and painless. All the functions work without any problems. I have had the machine for 2 months, I use MS XP. Pat

Summary: Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!
Review: I've tried every function on this machine and it works perfectly! Love the faxing and the scanning. Color copying is also a major plus. Running on Dell with XP. Setup was easy. I absolutely love this machine. Note that if you are sharing a fax line with a phone/dsl line (basically have only 1 wall jack, like me) to make sure you use a phone cord that only has 2 gold connectors (look in the head on either end). Most regular phone cords have 4. If you hook the 6110 up with a 4, the 6110 will say that it is "off the hook".

Summary: Beware of Digital Answering Machines - Revisited
Review: I am updating this review from a two star rating to a four star rating. Initially I had a problem with the integration of the fax function with a digital answering machine. The system was supposed to allow a answering machine to work in line with the fax. The answering machine would pick up and the fax would listen for fax sounds and take over if they were there. It didn't work. I called HP support and was told that the system had trouble with digital answering machines - they tried to fix it but eventually suggested I take the machine back. I wrote the CEO of HP complaining and my phone started ringing within days. Since then HP has put a fix on their web site which worked well. I chose the second option which is a unique ring pattern for fax messages. If not for my difficulties with support this would be a five star rating. This is a really nice multifunction.

Summary: NO DSL - hardware fails
Review: This is not acceptable for anyone with a home office for the simple reason that this fax machine will not share a DSL Line. Since I use a DSL line for our fax line at home, this was a complete waste of time. After surrendering to the idea that I must use the fax on my regular phone line, I encountered yet another error - my line rang busy all the time - prompting a call to the horrible tech support group with HP. I spent four hours working with tech support (who couldn't seem to spell "Stevens") until we determined that the fax wouldn't release the line after it made a call (i.e. like leaving the phone off the hook).
