Review: I purchased this model for a lower price at a local "mom and pop" store in my town. This model is quite cheap in quality and rivals Goodwill in value. That's the problem, the tuning indicator sticks while "sweeping" for stations, and since it's a low-market model, it lacks decent sound quality and any form of sensitivity. It's not too bad if you've recieved it as a gift, but quality control is severely lacking for this company.

Summary: You won't believe it's not expensive
Review: I would never have sought out such a radio, but stumbled upon it at a retail store. All I was looking for was something to carry around, maybe take camping or to the lake and could afford to lose. Alas, I discovered an amazing little radio with good spurious image rejection and amazing fidelity. Based on my experience with World-Band radios in this class, I would rank this among the best and at 20% of the price.My old reliable Sangean ATS-803A offers similar audio quality, is more sensitive and has not divided the shortwave spectrum into limited bands ... it also has a digital display, but the current radio in the long-since-discontinued ATS-803A's class runs around $200. If you're looking to see what's out there on the World Bands, or just need a handy and sensitive radio for standard AM, and it ain't too shabby on FM either, this is an amazing buy. And you can get about 500 (yes, five hundred) hours of play with a set of standard alkaline batteries. I don't know who these COBY guys are, but the company is now on my short list of brands to look out for. If you are in the market for an ultra-portable shortwave, or a handy radio, this is the one. If you factor in the retail price of the radio, add another star.

Summary: broken on first day
Review: Not working only after five minutes after I got it. The power button is not working properly. Dissemble it and it can work without the outer box.
Never buy anything from Coby again.
