You select the frequencies with a dial located on the side of the radio, which combines the style of traditional analog tuning with the accuracy of a synthesized tuner. One-kHz step tuning permits clear station reception, adjustable at 1 kHz intervals. Plus, you can quickly and easily return to your favorite stations with one of 20 presets you have saved in memory. Among other benefits offered by the Sony World Band is a dual standby function which lets you set the built-in alarm to sound at two different times or wake you to two different radio stations. The LCD display shows either the time or the tuned-in station. It comes with antenna systems for LW/AM (built-in ferrite bar antenna) and SW/FM (telescoping antenna) and runs on three AA batteries.
