Summary: This is the Best webcam availble
Review: No other Webcam I have tried out in the stores has been so easy to set up as this one, it's the only webcam that can deliver you 60 fps and one of the few that can give you megapixel still-pictures. I bought it for 6 months ago and it's working like a clockwork ever since.

Summary: What does this thing do exactly...
Review: Ok, I thought that all webcams did the same thing: u and ur friend on the other side of the world both are connected to the internet and have your webcams connected and can talk to each other live and see each other in a live video chat, at the same time, but according to the reviews it seems like all these things do are take pictures and take video clips which u can then send to ur friends. I don't need a video clip! I want a live video chat!!! do any of these actually do that!?!?!?

Summary: Great Quality Picture
Review: The Philips PCVC740K ToUcam Pro Internet WebCam gives great net webcam quality, sharp pix even in low light, focus is easy. The bundled software is not very good, but I use Adobe for still capture and windows movie maker for video capture. Easy installation. USB is great. Handy, stable, secure, FUN! Ya can't go wrong at this price.

Summary: Great Webcam ...
Review: This is my first experience using a webcam. After reading many reviews, decided to purchase the Philips ToUcam PCVC740K.

As a digital photographer, one of the elements I was most interested in was image clarity.

Am pleased to say this webcam gives good image clarity, as well as good color rendition for a webcam in its price range.

Image capture set at the highest resolution (1280x960) produces an acceptable 4x6 print (with a little photo editing). Friends could not believe the sharpness and clarity of a photo I printed from this webcam!

Videos emailed from this cam are also sharp & clear.

No problems with lighting conditions. Seems like the cam seeks out all available light!

Hard to purchase this model in local stores. Had to order over the internet.

Highly recommended to family and friends.

Summary: Best Price Performance
Review: This is the third webcam I've installed so far and it's the one I'm most pleased with. While the price is mid-range, the performance is excellent (speed, clarity of picture). The installation is so easy, even my grandmother could do it.
It also looks real cute, when you hang it to the laptop screen; like a little creature peeking over the edge.

Summary: ToUCam Pro is great, but not the XS!!!
Review: WARNING! BEWARE! You order a Philips PCVC740K ToUcam Pro webcam
from Circuit City through Amazon.com, and Circuit City gives you
a Philips PCVC720K TouCam XS. This is a different camera,
different processor, different characteristics, and most importantly, NOT linux compatible.
I'm still looking for the TouCam Pro for the advertised price.
BE CAREFUL - the sales people at Circuit City don't make the distinction between the 740k and the 720k.

However! If you actually get a ToUCam Pro, you'll find it to be
very nice - doing very clear, fast downloads of 640x480 images
under linux using the pwc and pwcx drivers. Oh. It also works under Windows. :)

Summary: Excellent Drivers, decent picture - Computer Vision
Review: We're using the cameras en masse to do some computer vision stuff with. For the price, they are pretty good. Especially nice are the drivers, which have a single checkbox to disable all auto-balancing stuff, which is good for our applications. Most others require a lot of work to do this. The picture quality is pretty good, important for face recognition and the like. Just can't wait until Philips comes out with the equivalent as a firewire camera! Also works in linux!

Summary: Great Picture Quality.............BUT...
Review: While it is true that the Philips PCVC740K ToUcam Pro webcam gives a great picture...even in low light... the Philips "VLOUNGE" software interface that comes bundled with it is horrible, Especially for capturing live video...the VRECORD application, previewed live video well...but when it came to recording, it would give me a USB bandwith error...even after I unplugged all other USB devices!!!! It also comes with some decent(but not exceptional) software applications including: Spotlife for live webcam use or creating live or still video on a website, (although its live video capture would let me record video, it gave me an error everytime I tried to record both video and audio together!) Reality Fusion's Gamecam software which lets you get inside games using your image to deflect balls etc, and a stripped down Ulead photo editor, PhotoExpress 2.0 LE.....

The camera itself, while delivering great image quality, in design is a bit awkward. Much lighter than Logitech Webcams, I found the oval shaped casing would often tip...and the tripod it comes with needs more weight on the back leg to keep it from slipping off the monitor (although it is probably perfect for laptop use). Still snapshots on this model can be taken by just saying CHEESE or by depressing the button on top of the camera. (Note: This webcam must be connected to computer via USB port to function...even for snapshots)

This camera is also suppose to deliver up to 60fps, that was one of the determining factors I had in choosing it over a Logitech or an Intel model...but that 60fps stat depends on your computer system and the number of USB devices...typically it still captures in the range of most other webcams...5-30fps BEWARE AMAZON CUSTOMERS: All of these Philips ToUcam models look similar!! If you buy/bought this webcam from Amazon, make sure it comes in a cardboard printed box (not on a plastic card like the lower end models) The ring around the lens of this Pro model is a yellow-orange color (The lower end model has a red/maroon color)............FYI
