Rating: Summary: Not Too Good Review: Picture is very grainy at best, incompatable with HP keyboard. Has a tendency to lock up with the new Windows Media player. Bottom line...wish I'd bought something else.
Rating: Summary: Watch out Review: The camera is very nice and easy to use. If you're looking for a camera, it's a great buy - with one catch. If you own an HP multimedia internet keyboard (such as the one supplied with the 8776c pc) you may have some problems. I'm not sure about other multimedia keyboards, but the Logitech camera conflicts with the software for the HP one. It disables the use of the volume control and mute button. Logitech's only solution is to update the keyboard software (which there is none at the moment). The only way to fix your machine after installing the software is to use the recovery cd. However, if this does not bother you (or apply to you), buy the camera!
Rating: Summary: Software Is Terrible(This Review Is For"Quick Cam Messenger" Review: The camera it self is small and compact and for the price is a good value...but what good is it if the software malfunctions.First of all the software disk is loaded with 3rd party software which means it contains "ADWARE"...the reasoning they tell you this is installed is for automatic updates....now seriously, how many updates do you get for a web cam?..wouldn"t it be simpler just to go to there site and check, instead of having a third party tracing your internet movements?...if you have SPYBOT or ADWARE on your PC run after you install the software and you will see what i mean....with the disk they supplied SPYBOT found 22 traces of "ADWARE"..so i unistalled the software disk and went to the LOGITECH site and downloaded the software from there and they state "no third party " from there site download...well load and behold when i ran SPYBOT and ADWARE i found none...but just for backup i used SPYSWEEPER which is a purchased program...and guess what...it located 7 traces of adware...the name of the adware that is installed is called"BACKWEB" ..now the real problem every once in awhile my PC will for no reason shut down...the problem arises from a bad driver issue within the LOGITECH software....they are well aware of the situation, but as of now they have not resolved it...bottom line is i will never purchase another LOGITECH product.
Rating: Summary: Terrible! Review: The only good thing about this cam is it is very easy to setup... other then that it ain't good whatsoever, the image quality is very bad even with good lighting.. in low light - forget it you can not see ANYTHING. And no matter what settings you use the image is always terribly grainy, you have to take pix of your face very closeup to see any kind of detail and still its hard to makeout..I dont recommend this cam to anyone - not even a newbie.. My QuickCam VC (parralel port) that I got 3 yrs ago works better then this thing!
Rating: Summary: Not high quality but effective, does what it does well Review: The software is pretty comprehensive. You can create small video clips, take snapshots, and turn your PC into a motion activated security camera (really sneaky). I haven't tried turning it into a constantly broadcasting webcam but can see no reason why it should not work. Videos taken are saved in .avi format but can be further compressed for mail transfer using the Logitech software to produce a self playing executable for those recipients with bandwidth or IT knowledge limitations (i.e wouldn't know their .mov from .mpg and don't even mention DIVX).The image quality leaves a bit to be desired but this is somewhat par for the course in something so cheap... I have used it for video conference (using NetMeeting) and to record small video clips. The sound recorded using the built in microphone is fine for general use but obviously a separate microphone near your mouth is preferable for one on one conferences. Most refresh rate issues are because of the bandwidth needed to stream the data across the network not because of any inherent problems in the camera. Overall: Fine for its price. Does what it says. Never had a problem with it. Would buy another one for a gift without hesitation. Caveats: Small note that some flourescent tubes (cheap ones) can cause the camera to show up stripes in the image, but the lights generally need to be pretty close to the object and the only source of light on the object being videod. I could never get it to work with Win95 but now that I have Win2k it is a breeze. All Win95 users: what are you still doing with that (...)?

Rating: Summary: Nice little cute thing with o.k. technology. Review: This camera has a pretty o.k. look for the price but it sometimes provides slow or shaky streaming media. The colors provided are extremely poor and are not for the person who wants to create a good look on his website. It's just a affordable camera for those who want to talk over the phone on the internet. Buy it if your not in the mood for spending 500 dollars on a good computer-cam.
Rating: Summary: what about XP Review: This camera is o.k. for quick snapshots, or a 5 second video for "happy birthday", but that's it. It is not compatible with Windows XP, even if you "download" the extra software from Logitech. I will cut the cord off mine and use it for driving practice at the golf course.
Rating: Summary: Good value, no problems Review: This product works great. I have Windows 98 with a Dell Pentium II 333 MHz. I was concerned a little before I purchased it because some reviews said they had installation problems. Mine went smoothly. I installed the driver, the Logitech software, and Netmeeting, all came on one CD. Then I pluged the Webcam and immediately started using it with netmeeting. The picture quality is good for Webvideo and netmeetings. Light is very important for the quality. If you are sitting in a room at night with one 75 Watt light bulb the quality is medium. However, in daylight the quality is great. Overall I feel that I got great value for my money. This is a perfect product for the simple webcam/netmeeting user.
Rating: Summary: It depends what you need it for... Review: Well If you dont have another camera and you want to take pictures and videos then this is great but if you want to use it to broadcast on the net BEWARE you have to pay its 100$ per month to get unlimited minutes... or you can pay less and get less minutes..... Watch out it doesnt have the frame by frame stop motion animation that the other ones do.... If you want a super good camera get an intell PC camera pro pack...it takes crystal clear pictures and videos...the logitech and intell come with virtual reality games where you look at the screen and your in the game... you jump and run to play these games... --- So overall I say its god for beginners who just want to take digital pics and videos...the pictures are pretty good quallity
