Summary: Great deal for the $$!
Review: After couple of days of looking for a decent webcam, I decided to get this one - reviews were pretty good and the price fit my budget. And I have to say that I absolutely love it!
Good things about this cam are bright and clear picture, much better than with the other Logitech cameras in this price range (my friend has QuickCam Messenger and after comparing qualities of picture and sound she decided to replace it with this model). Software is easy to install and go through.
Bad thing is the "privacy shiled" - it does fall off pretty often if the cam is being moved or adjusted. Also, the base does not have firm-gripping surface, I used self-adhesive tape to attach it to my monitor firmly.
But, from my perspective, these are really minor flaws. I wanted a cam with clear picture and I got more than I hoped for. This is a great deal for the price and I recommend this camera without any reserve!

Summary: Bad for windows 2000
Review: I was skeptical about how something quite so small (it must weigh two ounces!) could be something useful.

Installing the QuickCam is a snap. If you can hook up a USB cord and run the setup disk, then you're all set. Three minutes maximum time.

This is a small camera but, believe me, it has many options and could be quite useful.

There is a microphone built in so gone are the days of having to juggle one or pinning one to your shirt pocket. And the built-in microphone picks up from a few feet away so you don't have to have the QuickCam sitting right on top of you. As it has a zoom lens, this makes it practical and you don't need it on your desk top to add to the clutter that may already be there.

You can create .avi files, save them, and e-mail them to friends and family. OK, the picture quality isn't exactly a masterpiece but it is quite clear. The lens is also generous in the surrounding area and you don't need such bright lights to get a very good video.

The camera can take still pictures (something you won't use every day but it will be handy), web broadcasts and works with Yahoo and AOL messengers.

It's futuristic design does remind you of something out of Star Wars. Keep in mind: the lens can be covered with the sliding blue shield so that you won't be caught in any act.

As I said, it is very, very small; extremely lightweight; inexpensive enough so that you don't have to justify the purchase by feeling it is something you have to use every day; and . . . it's fun!

Summary: "A 'hol lotta FUN!
Review: I would have to repeat what the majority has already said. It's a great, little, inexpensive web cam. I'm having nothing but fun with this little "toy". I experienced easy installation, and with proper lighting, the picture clarity is very good.
Highly recommended. Thank you Logitech for an outstanding product!

Summary: Bad for windows 2000
Review: The installation on windows 2000 is difficult - you have to to install with CD first (this a "plug & ooops, you should not have done that!" design); and you have to cycle the power; and you have to do it all again after you plug the laptop into the dock; and it doesn't do some things right, so you have to uninstall it all, and redo it all, and 1/2 day is gone.

After all that the video works, but the microphone does not. I've unistalled and re-installed, downloaded updates, etc. etc.

The add-on image and movie sw also doesn't work (always finds the camera busy); although that usage is not a big deal to me it's still anyoing that it doesn't work.

It also doesn't co-operate with the NetMeeting's Audio test ("The device does not have any volume controlls..." -it does, but NetMeeting 3.01 doesn't find them)

Perhaps it's windows 2000 and NetMeeting, perpahs it's Logitech, but at best I'll reluctantly keep the camera and use another microphone; in any case I wish I've got something else.

Summary: awesome little cam!!
Review: the people who find this hard to install must have brain damage - it is plug and play at its simplest and best - xp recognizes it in a flash and the software is effortless to install - I tried the similarly priced creative webcam pro and couldn't say the same - the picture quality is not exactly what I get from my coolpix 5700 but for something its size it is really quite extraordinary - the video is totally fun to play with and the mic is really amazing too - I haven't used my headset once with this- the automatic compression for sending the videos is nice too - also the face tracking feature is impressive although there is a little too much zoom for my personal taste - the stop motion animation feature is a bonus and fun to play with - overall a great product for the price - two small complaints - the shield (blue pastic piece) keeps falling off and the base is less than totally sturdy - I use a thin flat-screen monitor and had to jerry-rig a way to keep it in place. For the $60 Canadian I paid during a boxing day sale I feel like I got the best posisble deal - A+

Summary: Quality of something that comes out of a gumball machine!
Review: The QuickZoom Cam works o.k., but it has the quality of something comes out of a gumball machine. Don't breath too hard or turn on a fan or the ball camera will fall out of it's stand. Impossible to keep it functioning in any kind of a working enviroment, other than a sterile laboratory where nothing is touched or moved. This product is way below par for it's price ...which is what I paid for it at a local store. Quality control must have been on vacation at Logitech for them to let this thing out the doors. Should be priced at ...as a 6 month disposable product.

Summary: Plug n Play sucks
Review: The software that comes with the webcam doesn't work at all and you've to download the updated software from logitech site. Also I found this hard way, this web cam doesn't work for Windows 2003. Logitech has no plans of providing drivers for Windows 2003. I'm hopeful that someday they will change their decision and provide drivers for Windows 2003. Looks like till then I've to login and logout of Windows XP whenever I've to use the webcam. Having said that the picture quality of this web cam is excellent. I would have given three stars if only the installation was also as smooth as the picture quality.
