Rating: Summary: Wow.. Amazing Quality!! Review: I initially purchased Logitech Quick Cam Express. It was aweful. It used to have ghostly pictures. So,I returned back. I purchased this yesterday, I was totally stunned to see the quality of the pictures and video. It is crystal clear and it can take megapixels pictures too. Worth the money...
Rating: Summary: Best Camera in the market Review: I have tried many cameras and compared them together. This is the best Camera I have seen with very sharp pictures. I do a chat with my friend who is studying at college and I am more than satisfied. The quality inside the room is much better from other cameras in the market. It is worth the money and is one time investment.
Rating: Summary: Quite Pleased Review: Having owned the previous model (3000) for about a year, and happy with it, this newer versions improves on a few shortfalls. First of all, the stand is MUCH improved. It pivots & rotates nicely. Secondly, the viewed image, picture is noticely better and with added zoom feature, I am very pleased. Having seen some cheaper webcams, this is certainly worth the few extra dollars to own this quailty webcam. Happy "camming"
Rating: Summary: Very satisfied. Review: I bought this camera with expectations that it would be a bit better than the MCI Videophones I bought a decade ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's a *lot* better, thanks to better resolution (640 x 480), faster frame-rate (24+ FPS)and of course more robust broadband connections. Set-up was very simple: I installed the Logitech software (running WinXP-home), rebooted the computer and then plugged the camera into the USB hub as per the onscreen instructions that followed the reboot. In 2 minutes, I was up and running. The taskbar icon allows you to make any adjustments you want to the image, including zooming, and a somewhat imprecise rubber ring around the lens allows you to adjust the focus if necessary (it wasn't necessary). A very nice extra is the built in microphone, which is automatically set up during install and which does not require a separate mic jack (it uses the same USB connection as the video does). About the only complaint I have is the stand for the camera; it does not really lock the camera in very securely and therefore makes touching the camera (for example, to rotate the focus ring) a tricky, two-handed operation.
Rating: Summary: Best camera I bought Review: The resolution on this webcam is a true 640x480 pixels, so the picture quality is very sharp. Best for video conferencing. Still images of 1.3 megapixels gives you good picture. It is a higher version of Pro 3000, with a Digital Zoom. Cool feature. Before buying this product, I bought a Logitech Quickcam Express, but the picture quality was very poor. Price is higher, but it's worth it if you use this camera very often.
Rating: Summary: Not comfortable with it Review: I have been used this product before, the quality is okay, not very impressive though. Now i am using other cameras like IP Camera. I am lucy to find out that some of the IP Camera like IP Camera 8000 can act as webcam, and can be placed anywhere in my house and be viewed anywhere in the world. That's too convenience for me because i did not have to hook camera to my computer anymore. Also imagine you can watch your babies in their bedroom or the dinning room from outside like your office. That's too cool. Forget the webcam...
Rating: Summary: Works Great on MY PC, ok on my MAC Review: To date this is the best of 3 web cams I've used. I bought this and the Isight at the same time, ended up returning the Isight because we elected to use the PC for our web cam machine.Note: I only use this as a web-cam for communication, I don't use any of the other software that comes with it. The camera setup is fairly well though out. I really like the fact they give you two stands, one for a CRT and one for an LCD. Installation of the software on an old PIII dell under windows 2000 went pretty much by the book. My only complaint was that it took a rather long time to install the software. Once installed it detected the camera and all was well. I do photography as a hobby and compared to still cameras or even conventional video cameras the image quality was lacking, but you have to remeber what this device is for. The auto white balance worked pretty good, way out performing my Isight. I haven't messed with the face tracking software, I figure thats just a problem waiting to happen. It plugged and worked (video wise) with my Mac and PC. I had some issues with getting the audio to work with my mac and Ivisit but I didn't really pay attention since I wasn't planning on using it for the Mac anyway. On the PC it works fine, does an ok image, recognized by Yahoo IM and Ivisit. Because of the pull of the cable getting it pointed in just the right direction is sometimes problematic. All in all I am happy with it. It does its job well.
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT LOVE IT Review: Finally I got the 4000 pro and watch a 5000 will come out LOL Either way this cam rocks! I made a ton of videos right away and pics with ease. I love this cam! The picture is so clear and the mic is very good. I recommend!
Rating: Summary: Great value Review: The Logitech 4000 is a great value and is very easy to hookup and use.The picture was very good when I contected a friend in the midwest (Ohio). She said that it was much better then other wedcams that she has used.
Rating: Summary: Logitech Quickcam Communicate has same claw grip stand Review: First of all, the black orb webcam version of this one, has the same grip. Go look through the products images. So do not choose this camera just for the grip. This is probably not what you are looking for, unless you want to be able to take photographs above 640 x 420 resolution, zoom or focus, but then you are looking for a pro webcam - and this is the camera you want, but you are not taking advantage of how very cheap Webcams are.
Claw grip that you can bend around almost anything but is especially designed for LCD monitors, has no problem with CRT or desks, is going to prevent us breaking the camera any time soon. The camera is white so does not look as good as HAL from 2001, as per the black Quickcam, but nice all the same. Pity the central camera lens doesn't glow red, ha aha. The black non-pro quickcam looks better I think.
The camera must click into the stand. The directions do not make this very clear and some may be inclined to just let the camera orb rest on the stand, but it clicks into place so that it can bend and rotate on its axis firmly attached to the claw grip. The cable is a direct camera to USB2 that runs about the height of an average person, so if you want it to see further you need a USB2 to USB2 extension. However the cable is adequate for most.
With XP driver installation is crazy at best. Do not use the windows drivers or the webcam may cause Windows crashing. Do not plug in the webcam. Insert the CD. Install the driver software. Then you are prompted to plug in your webcam and follow what Logitech tell you to do. Okay, now you have the camera set so you can take photographs and camera video with it. XP just crashes the cam if you do not use the Logitech drivers.
One last tip. Avoid lighting at the camera directly by using a reading light behind the camera aimed at you. This will boost your image quality considerably. The autofocus is near perfect for the price. You will not have to adjust this camera except to move it around.
In short, get the other black model unless you want zoom, focus and high quality photographic images.
