Summary: This is the worst product I have ever puchased in my life!
Review: After having this for over a year I have yet to use it. It will not install properly. It does not detect the hardware. After waiting 3 months to get an answer from tech support (calling is a joke in itself) all tech support gave me was the troubleshooting steps listed on their website that I had already done hundreds of time. They then told me there were conflicts with AMD chips so I waited to get a new PC... well here I am with a brand new PC that far exceeds the requirements for the product along with having a pentium chip and I am still having the same problems. It will not detect the hardware, the PC detects it, the software does not. What a waste of [money]!!!!

Summary: what a product!!
Review: all i can say is that when i went back to my local bestbuy and noticed that they removed this terrible product from the shelves, i almost cried in joy. When i brought the product back to the store to return it, they took it back no questions asked, because they knew this product sucks.

Summary: Works great, if you can get it to work at all.
Review: First time I plugged it in and installed the drivers it worked instantly. Captured about four hours worth of high quality video with no sync problems on a P3-450 with 128megs ram.

I then installed a USB cd writer. The Dazzle device no longer works. I really don't care what installing the cd writer did, I see this as a major flaw. My USB cd writer and USB zip drive work perfectly. I'm now forced to use this device on another, much slower computer. Nothing about this is mentioned on their site.

This product is VERY flakey. After making changes to video settings, you must exit the program, unplug the device, plug it back in, and restart the capture program. This seems to be Dazzle's solution for every problem I've encountered with this piece of uhm.. plastic.

It feels as if this product was rushed out in a "just make it work" strategy. Dazzle obviously did not test this product thoroughly enough before finalizing it.

Stay away. Get a digital camcorder and DV card instead.

Summary: What did get...??
Review: Has been using Dazzle digital creator for 20 days. Did I wasted money on this item??!! Unable to import MS powerpoint presentation onto dazzle unless it is converted to .AVI or .MPEG even using MS camcorder to record has been a problem. Unable to import music from the real player jukebox which came with the product. You have to input from your CD player or CDROM.. I am really to kick this to the curve unless tech support answer my email, where are they when you need them?

Summary: ok product, but there's much better product cost less
Review: I bought Dazzle's DVC about 2 years ago. In my opinion, it worked fine for capturing TV or videos to MPEG or VCD. However, at price about...(remember, I bought it 2 years ago, and the price is still the same now), you would expect it to do more than just capture MPEG-1 videos. ATI's All-in-Wonder Radeon video card has far more functionalities than Dazzle DVC, and yet it cost less(you can find it online for about $150 these days). All-in-Wonder Radeon can capture not only MPEG-1, but also MPEG-2. Dazzle's DVC II also captures MPEG-2, but it has a price tag of...Plus, All-in-Wonder Radeon has a build-in TV tuner, so you don't have to attach an extra VCR for your computer to capture video. The only downside about All-in-Wonder Radeon is that it is also a video card, if your computer already has a high-end video card (i.e. GeForce4, etc.), you wouldn't want to replace your high-end video card with this. If you don't own a high-end video card, and are looking for a video capture device, I would suggest you to buy ATI's All-in-Wonder Radeon, and replace your current video card, because Radeon's 3D performance is about the same with nVidia's GeForce card. It'll cost less than Dazzle's DVC. If you are looking for both a high-end video card and video capture device, then get either All-in-wonder Radeon 7500 or 8500. It got all the video capture functionality plus high performance 3D graphics chip. All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500... video card's 3D performance is equivalent to nVidia's GeForce3; and All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500... performance falls in between Radeon and Radeon 8500. If after reading this review, you still want to buy Dazzle's DVC, then take a look at the used listing for this product. Because I'm selling my Dazzle DVC since I bought a All-in-Wonder Radeon, and the Dazzle DVC is still in very good condition.

Summary: great product
Review: I don't know what this other persons problem is but I had mine up and running in less than 5 minutes. Maybe he owns stock in a competing company. If your looking for a good plug and play system this is it. I had salesmen try to tell me that the Dazzle 80 did the same thing but if you read the back of the box it tells you that the Dazzle 80 only imports to your computer. I needed something that would export back to VSH tape And this Dazzle Multimedia DM4100 Digital Video Creator does that and more. I do suggest that you have a fast and powerful computer. My windows 98 333 mhz 192 meg RAM computer almost doesn't cut it. If my system is thinking durring play the video jumps like a record skipping. Other than that it is exactly what I wanted. I look forword to seeing bigger and better things from Dazzle. P.S great price!!

Summary: A pretty good capture card, but the software kind of [stinks]
Review: I don't own one of these (yet), but I have used it for fairly intense work. Setup was a snap on my IBM Thinkpad T20. I was able to hook up an analog camcorder and capture video, without any syncing problems. The quality is pretty good, I had no problems with how it looked fullscreen (1024x768) when I captured at 640x480 (which the card doesn't actually do, it just doubled the 320x240 resolution of the video tape). The editing software is pretty horrible however. I used Adobe Premiere and it worked great.

Summary: Great for what beginner
Review: I got this hoping to become some kind of a guru video editor/creator. Well that is sort of the way it works out. First of all if you have anything else on the USB ports (ie: camera, mouse, keyboard) they will not always work when you are moving video from your camcorder to your pc. The transfer rate is a bit slow also. (This may depend on your pc, I have a 450 pentium and it was slow) Another misconception is that you will have the ability to create cinema quality video on cd or dvd. This is not true. Although the quality of the video is good, a lot is lost in the conversion to mpeg. I am giving this product 4 stars.

Summary: Dazzles Lack of customer support and lack of response.
Review: I have had problems with my Dm4300 Dazzle DVCII,( Staples version). I have had to format my hard drive twice and reload windows three times.Because of continious system crashes.
Now when I try to load the included Dazzle software I have lost the "title " capabilitiy my system continues to crash and give me problems, I have contacted Dazzle via email three times, NO response. By phone NO response. not even a " we got your request for help" we will respond as time allows!!! Nothing.
The platform I'm using is a 233mhz mx ( Matsonic) with 302mgb Vdram and a 7 gig hard drive. I have a ATI Mach64 video card set at 800x600, running in 32 bit color mode I have a CM1880 sound card.
I have down loaded and installed both patches, the device came with Movie Star 4.21 I installed 4.21 - 4.22 and then I loaded the 4.22- 4.23 patch.. All this did was remove my "Titling and cause the system crash more often???? I have read all there help ideas and implimented them with NO success JUST MORE FRUSTRATION!!!
I'm getting closer to asking DAZZLE to REFUND my purchase,( If I ever get any response. IF ONLY they would respond!! and help me. It looks good on the surface and has the capabilities I need( I thought?).
