Rating: Summary: Very bad video quality Review: Don't buy this, you may want to get the one from ATi or others. Installation is a nightmare. Driver is not working, Tech support is useless. Very bad picture quality that you would not like it.
Rating: Summary: Nice But.................... Review: I am happy with my unit but there are some flaws that need to be worked out. I use it to watch TV and record. With the Titan TV hookup, it is easy to find and record your favorite shows. The down side is that sometimes the audio gets out of sync with the video and the Aver Scheduler Software is frustrating when you have recording conflicts. Your schedules are stored FIFO and can not be sorted by date (There is a button that looks like it should sort) It is interesting that the scheduler displays the show description downloaded from Titan but not the Show Name. (Titan TV is great!!!!!!!!!! TIVO without a monthly fee and it is very easy to set favorites and search for programs) One problem with the Aver Card is that the "watch now" feature of Titan has not been implemented. With this feature you can switch your TV from the Guide. I hope that Aver Media will update the drivers soon to eliminate these problems. Also read the system requirments VERY CAREFULLY! You might have to buy an audio card. Another short fall is that you can not record over a network. I rate the product a B+. I would give it an A+ if the software were more flexable.
Rating: Summary: Great gadget Review: I am very happy with UltraTV. The TV picture is much better than I expected, video capture is simple, and the ability to record radio programs is a nice little bonus. I expected setup to be much harder, especially for a recovering computer illiterate like me who's only had their computer for a few months. But it was fairly straightforward, as long as you follow the directions closely. People with more experience then me would probably find it even easier.
Rating: Summary: A Very Nice Product Review: I needed an A to D video converter to convert our old 8mm tapes to DVD. I took a risk buying this product since there were no reviews I could find as reference on the Internet. So far I am very happy with it. I cannot compare it with other similar products but as far as doing what I need it is perfect. Really time conversion to MPeg2 files is really smooth and problem free from any analog video source. I am not 100% sure about sound conversion accuracy. Price is really good comparing with the more popular brand. I have not used the TV feature but it should be as good.
Rating: Summary: HIgh resolutions mean higher processor speeds needed Review: This is a great little product. I looked at Pinnacle and Dazzle products but got frightened by so many bad reviews. I got this to capture video after hearing great things about Avermedia. It installed easily and I had it working fine when I hooked up my VCR and cable. The quality was great. I have no problems with audio syncing. There is one thing about quality though. I use the card on an older computer with only a 500 mhz processor and I can only capture at a medium resolution. When I do, the quality is fine. But to capture at the highest resolutions, make sure you have a faster processor and maybe some memory to move around with or it will drop too many frames all the time. As for the tv tuner part, it works great. No resolution problems with watching.
