Rating: Summary: I just recorded the Super Bowl!!! Review: This being the 3rd TV tuner I've purchased in less than a month, my expectations were not very high. My first purchase was an ATI TV VE that I bought as a starter to see if I would like using a TV tuner. It never worked properly. ATI fails to mention on the box that they do not work well with Nvidia cards or Windows XP.My next purchase was a Video Blaster VCR which I was never able to get to work. As an IT professional, it is always frustrating when bad installs are not your fault. I had all the correct drivers and the updated version of their software but it would not work. I even tried 3 different inputs: cable, camcorder, DVD. Nothing worked. Finally I went back to the store and decided to give it one more try. I liked the way the PCTV Deluxe looked and the specs were perfect. USB 2.0?!?! I was already tired of taking apart my computer so this was exactly what the doctor ordered. I bought it on Superbowl Sunday so I figured I could really test it out. Needless to say that it worked perfectly. I recorded the pre-game, game, and post game for over 4 hours of footage. It even looks pretty good and the sound is TV quality. Mind you I have an 18.1" Sony LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 1024. There are a few hiccups now and then but that's because I'm usually performing too many tasks on the system. Once you change the bitrate to 15 for USB 2, you'll really be impressed by the quality of the recording. The specs on my machine are as follows: 2.4 P4, 512 MB DDR, Nvidia Ti4200 GeForce 4, 80 gig 7200, 100 gig 7200. This product works great for me and if they have updates soon to improve some of the bugs, then they'll be improving an already solid product.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't work with Windows XP Review: To make a long story short, countless customers like myself have spent months trying to fix the same problem -- "hardware installation failed" -- with not a peep from Pinnacle. There is some problem with Windows XP recognizing the drivers. The bleepin thing does not work. STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Stable, but slow. Review: Well, I just bought this device last week, and so far it's been working great and stable, no halts, no freezes. I bought this product 'cause I own a laptop and this is one of the very, very few usb tv tuners that works at the usb 2.0 speed. Good things: good design on box colour, has S-video and composite inputs, supports usb 2.0 and 1.1, stable, comes with video and audio conversion program, time shifting technology, and remote control. Bad things: doesn't support any other 3rd party tv capture program (limits capturing capabilities and options), takes 2 seconds to change a channel (vs a split second on my previous PCI tv card), and cannot be used with game console due to it being an external tv card. I plugged my PS2 into the device and the movement on my LCD proceeded 5 seconds after I pressed the buttons. So, buy this ONLY if you have a laptop. Otherwise, go for a PCI card. I am running the device with a Compaq Presario 2525CA, P4 2.4 GHz, 512 ram, and Radeon 64 Mb IGP 345M on Win XP Home.
