Summary: Amazon has lost my business
Review: Amazon has lost all my future business and if I get my way, all my friends future business. Jeff, if your reading this (Yes, Mr. Amazon, I'm refering to you), What kind of bait & switch are you pulling here? I have spent many a hard earned buck with Amazon in the past, but no longer. What do hear from your CR's, "Sorry sir, we don't keep real time inventory." "If we had 10 of the product, and 1000 people ordered it, 990 would be out of luck."

How can it be out of stock? It was a pre-order. Here's my bait and switch...I've switched my online store.

Summary: Just Recieved Mine, a bit un-stable
Review: I purchased this card last week and installed last night, my XP Pro system has not been stable since. Pulled the latest drivers from ATI and still have problems. Every 30 minutes or so the screen goes black and the ATI software resets the driver. Its a good deal, but the drivers may be premature.

Summary: I don't buy their story
Review: I understand the price going up on saturday, because the price was based on the friday sale.

However I do not buy the story of the presale overselling. It should have been entered into their e-tail server how many
units were going to be available to sell.

Another reason I don't buy into the story is that it took so long to inform me that the order was cancelled.

In good faith they should not have cancelled the orders, but informed us of their non-availability at the designated
time and offered to hold the order until a later time as it is truly unlikely that they will not have it in the future since
it is a new technology.

I have to wonder if they sold out of units or were just taking too much of a loss to their business model.

I'll just keep waiting to upgrade. I'm not in enough of a hurry to fork out more than $280 for a video card.

Summary: 9800 PRO
Review: I was given this card for christmas and so far, it kicks ... Its got a higher graphics core, memory interface, higher nandwidth, and higher fill rate then any of the new FXs except maybe the 5950 Ultra...
Also, any of you fools who think this isnt an ATI card IT IS! so use ATI and Omega drivers!

Summary: Amazon: 0 star. Visiontek 9800 pro 256M: 5 star
Review: There were two promotions approximately at the same time. One from amazon, which was a pre-order of Visiontek 256M 9800Pro; the other from gateway accessory store, which was an ATI 9800 Pro 128M. As a CAD user, I prefer large memory than faster board design. So I picked amazon instead of gateway. Though as an AAA plus member, the ATI card at Gateway is much cheaper. However, amazon deleted my order and send me an email saying that they are no longer carrrying this product. And I learned later that Gateway shipped their order though they also increase the price after they find the order price might be too low. So what for nexttime purchase?---I vote for gateway and will let BBB knows what happened here.

Summary: This card is the best
Review: This card is the best.ATI radeon 9800 pro is better in quality. Plus im not paying 415 bucks for the 5900 ultra. I had the 5200 with 128mb of ram. It was ok, but I knew I needed more performance, and the Radeon 9800 pro did that for me. People say the 9800 pro sucks because you cant overclock, big deal, this card is fast and I won't have to upgrade for a couple years. For gaming, I can get an average of 75 fps(non bench mark) with 1152 x 864 with 4x AA and 8x AF in Unreal Tournament 2003. I 3Dmarked my Radeon 9800 pro on a Athlon 64 2ghz @2.2Ghz processor(overclocked), 1024 mb of ram, 120 gig hardrive, and Asus motherboard(P4c800), I got an score of 6100 on 1024 x 768 with no AA or AF. On 1600 x 1200 with 4x AA and 4x AF I got 1701. If I were you, I would get the Radeon 9800 pro.
