Rating: Summary: Lots of stuff Review: Well, now I need to go buy some things to plug into the 40 billion slots. I can't think of anything you can't plug into it. It sounds super cool, good for the mojo.
Rating: Summary: Low end - mediocre card Review: When I first read some reviews on this card I thought it was a card that would give the Creative SB Live Plat a run for the money. Well after installing it and trying it out I got to say when it work its decent, but that is after you get it working. Under W2K drivers dont install correctly, a readme indicates uninstalling drivers booting into safe mode deleting several files and then rebooting and allowing the card to redetect and reinstall the correct drivers. All this for a update to their current drivers. If you go to Hercules' forum many people say once they go through the process the new drivers constantly crash. I on the other hand opted to go with Win ME instead. It worked ok for a little while then lost the drivers, trying to reinstall did not work. Had to shuffle the PCI card to another slow before it would work again. Then I find that it wont take non-amplified speakers. So this rules out many that are on the market or in peoples homes. I know many reviews have tested this with the Klipsch speakers but I dont really feel like spending $300.00 to get a $130.00 sound card to work right. Documentation is sparse and their website has literally no info under Support.Considering all this I believe the card is just decent, once it is working the sound is above average. Although, an end user should never have to go through all these hoops to get it to work.
