Summary: Almost too easy...
Review: Based on Michael McCord's review of this item I purchased it, had it installed in a flash and everything worked without a hitch!

Summary: No.
Review: Here's a list of some of my experiences with this product. Maybe you will learn something and not make the same mistakes I made. 1) I first used one of the USB ports on my MS Natural keyboard. I finally figured out that the keyboard's power supply wasn't enough to handle the product. I switched the mouse to the keyboard and the network adapter to a port on my PC. Problem solved. 2) After installing the product (installation was easy), both of the two computers I was attempting to network refused to shut down. They just stalled at the shut down screens. I had to resort to pulling the plug on them, or resetting them in hopes it wouldn't do it on another try. This happens randomly, about half the time. 3) I haven't been able to get any games to work on my LAN. I know this product isn't exactly the fastest, but I expected SOME games to work... I have tried Starcraft, Unreal Tournament, and Rouge Spear. 4) Although I have been able to share my cable internet connection over the network, my client PC sometimes doesn't connect with my server when I turn it on, so I have to reboot and try again. When the network is functioning, I can share printers, view files on the other PC, and share the internet connection, but it doesn't work all the time. In conclusion, I have had a very bad time with this product. I guess it was foolish of me to get wireless...

Summary: Great Intel home networking solution
Review: I can see many reviewers are frustrated because they encounetred software compatibility issue, I think I am one of the lucky people who enjoy this product. Easy installation and home networking is just in minutes. No problem with my compaq presario pc (Win 98)and HP pavillion (Win Me). Although I see problem on my compaq pc when I try to shutdown, over all, it's great product especially when you have tried others networking product, the intel software is absolutely excellent !

Summary: Installation Was Easy-- the Only Easy Thing
Review: I ended up returning these because of corruption problems. Tech support was very limited-- and they had disconnected the 800 number. I could see why considering the amount of time I spent troubleshooting the little darlings. They probably had more in phone bills than their profit on each unit.

There were horrendous compatibility problems with simple software-- problems the like of which I had not seen since Windows 3.11. The proxy server did not work. Finally, Windows 98 ended up with corrupt VXD files on both computers I had networked, and that was the final straw.

Can anyone recommend a good wireless networking device?

Summary: Works fine on a 3 computer network
Review: I have purchased 3 Wireless USB AnyPoint adapters from Intel. All installed easily and have worked without a hitch. Can't see how it could have been easier. May not be the fastest product out there, but is as fast as my network connection which is all that I share.

Summary: Extremely easy to install and it works!
Review: I just installed this on my two home PCs. It took just a few minutes to install the software and plug in the USB cable (included). Both computers were networked in just a short time and I am able to access the internet from both as well as share printers and drives.

You do have to buy one for each computer. My "server" computer is a home-built and the "client" is an HP Pavilion. I was braced for a lot of troubleshooting and tweaking but it really did all come together without a hitch. I highly recommend this.

Summary: anypoint what is the point
Review: I purchased anypoint to network a notebook with an OS of windows me to my desktop with an OS of XP. Installed great on the notebook but not on the desktop. Would not accept the drivers. The last message I got was Blackice defender. I have no idea what that means. But at the end of the day I would not have bought this product as I have had to reload XP on my new system.

Waste of time and money

Unfortunatly I had to rate this as one star as I could not submit this without a star
