Rating: Summary: great feature poor quality Review: I got the router, and couldn't get it to work since the LED is red. Exchanged it and had it working for 3months, and the LED turned red again, and have to return it to the manufacturer. Very disappointed. When it works, it's great. But....
Rating: Summary: Good product Review: I just installed this yesterday. Installation was a breeze. I did not have any problems. I am also using the Dlink 650 card for the wireless part. The wireless signal quality on the wireless card application doesn't appear to be good, but i hardly notice a difference in speed. DHCP/NAT is not confugurable other than the 192.168.254 private IP range. It has good features. I haven't really played with th eprint server yet. Overall great product for a good price.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Product, Reasonable Price Review: I purchased this item to enhance the addition of a laptop to my family of computers. I got a Hawking Technology PC card to go with. Setup went flawlessly and I was networking in 30 minutes. And I may know my way around a computer but I'm no networking expert. I would highly reccomend this product for someone who wants to share one broadband connection but doesn't require the intra-computer file transfer be at a lightning speed that the "G" network would offer.
Rating: Summary: No Technical Support Review: I used 2623 wireless router for about a year. It required often to reboot so I decided to download FW upgrade which should fix this problem. After FW download, router stopped working completely. There is no phone number to call for tech. support. I sent two mail and still no response. Never buy electronic product from company which does not have phone support!
Rating: Summary: GREAT router, AWFUL print server Review: I've had this for several months. First of all the person who said there is no phone support is flat wrong -- I got phone support twice when I had problems setting it up (mostly my own doing, but see below). Second, DON'T but this if you do any serious printing. It is the slowest parallel port I have ever seen in my life. It also doesn't support bidirectional commuication, so that leaves out some printers, altogether. You can but a standalone print server for $... I suggest Intel Pro 10/100 (only that model), any Linksys, or a Hawking. Just DON'T USE THIS ONE for a print server! . Good points: Excellent range (much better than the SMC, for example). I can access it from anywhere inside the house or the yard, even with WEP enabled (OK, I bought the optional antenna so I could get to it from outside). It's fast, unobtrusivem and doesn't run hot. It has a switch to enable uplink with a standard cat5 cable if you run out of wired ports. . Bad points: My DSL kept turning off until I tweaked the factory security settings a little.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing range, Useless Web support Review: Installation was difficult, since it is not mentioned that a restart of the cable modem is required. Confusing setup, supplied documentation: 13 lines for configuration. Complete manual only available from website, which requires already a working connection - the one we are working on! No information on how to deal with an office printer/fax combo if hooked up to the ECM (is it?) printer port. No information on how to set up a network printer connecting via network cable. The range is claimed to be 40 meters indoors. It is unoperational from my home office to my patio which is 17 meters. The website support is unusable due to a bug, which makes sending all the filled out obligatory information along with the message impossible - Frustrating! It works close to base, but does not give me the full mobility I expected. I will exchange it for another system.
Rating: Summary: This is a REALLY bad product Review: Never stable...drops connections continuously, from the time i set it up. I have 6 other routers, which all work fine...this router simply doesn't. Also notices issues with the amount of heat it gives off. Lack of any kind of firmware support is also an issue. Other forums online confirm that these are all common problems with this product. Office Depot confirmed it and replaced mine with a D-Link. Tech support was completely clueless, as many others have reported. They gave me the distinct impression that they had no training whatsoever, and were just reading the manual back to me from a screen.
Rating: Summary: Missing critical security features Review: Router is missing WPA. You cannot hide your SSID. And you can not limit access by MAC address. Otherwise, it works well.
Rating: Summary: Great Amateur Router for home or small office Review: The router has very large wireless coverage and can be extened by extra antenna ss2206. The router's configuration interface is so easy to use by a setup wizard, which is Question-Answer based wizard. Answer the questiones and then it is ready to use. If you don't understand or can't anwser the questiones, just call you DSL or Cable provider because they will answer the questiones for you. Advance setup is also available if you want to set up a networking for your small business with several servers such as web server, FTP server, print server, fire wall etc. If you have static IP address, you can setup your web site by configuring the router to be a virtual web server and forwarding the requests to your server in your network. If you want to setup a website without paying any extra fee, you can use this router to be a client to transfer your IP address to a free domain name service provider. And then you can have you own website for free.
Rating: Summary: Great product Review: This was my second router after MR814. It was not as good looking as MR814 but the interface is lot better then MR814. Performance is also pretty good and the print server feature is really nice. Over all performance is very good. I mean easy to install, Range is fine.
