Summary: Somewhat Flakey
Review: My Network Anywhere Wireless Cable/DSL Router was a good bargain at Radio Shack, and I would be happy, I think, if I was just browsing the web, but I have to get into my home network from outside and the router makes this difficult for these reasons:*It doesn't seem to renew the DHCP lease at my ISP. After 4 days I have to renew it by hand.
*If the lease expires while I am away, the home network becomes unreachable.
*If I stay off line long enough, the ISP gives my IP address to someone else and I get a different one. Then I get to do lots of DNS work so my mail server is visible
*This is a pain Other than this, I like it OK. It worries me how hot it gets, but that may just be the way it is. Alan

I bought the NWR04b at a Boxing Day sale at Staples for just $19 Canadian. I already have a wireless router and was looking for a 4-port hub, and this was cheaper than a hub, so I thought I would try it for a lark. The physical product is impressive with abundant LED's for port and box status, I was able to get full bandwidth (11MB) signal from all over my 3-storey home, and the user interface is decent. The unit hooked up to my ISP fine and seemed to work well at first. Unfortunately the firmware locks up; every 2 days I have to unplug it for 5 seconds then plug it in again - then it has to re-log into my ISP, but then it works ok. It does run very hot, but I'm not sure if this is the root problem. Web support is very limited. From what I read on the net, the older 1.2-series firmware is more stable. Mine has the newer 1.3 series firmware, but since you can't download this from the net (as of today only the 1.2 is on the site) I am reluctant to reflash it if I can't get it back. As such, I just disabled the DHCP and wireless and use it a a 4-port hub occasionally, and reinstalled my Dlink wireless router. If you can get this cheap and they come out with more stable firmware, grab one. If not, maybe think about spending a bit more for a more stable unit, or just be fine with unplugging it every couple of days. Much of the buzz I read about this unit lauded it as having Linksys guts - if so, these are pretty sickly innards, and if I were in brand management at Linksys, I'd want to distance my trademarks from this particular box. Summary: Works, eventually
Review: Purchased the NWR04B in addition to a couple of the wireless USB cards from Network Everywhere for a small home net. USB installed no problem (other than requiring a reboot under XP), and the router was simple to setup (almost exactly like a Linksys router config). Router worked for about 5 minutes then locked up. Rebooted the router and it worked again for 5 minutes. Tried to open the manual that is only on the CD, and it said I needed Acrobat. I tried to install the copy that came on that cd, it was corrupt. I could not stay online long enough to download Acrobat from Adobe in one shot. Finally got it downloaded and opened the manual. No usable info in there about why it would lock up. Went to NetworkEverywhere website, and eventually found an udated firmware for the router. No instructions with it. Note that I had to reboot the router every 5 minutes during all this. Could not find any mention, anywhere of how to load the firmware, TFTP did not work. Finally found under the web based help in the router itself the option to upgrade the firmware. So after 4 hours, it seems to work. In the end, did not save any money by buying this thing, 4 hours of time is more than the cost of a Orinoco RG1000. And it sets up in minutes.

Review: Rather easy to set up and it's been working flawlessly so far.
I had to download a driver, but after that it went smoothly. I have it hooked up to my dell docking station, and cabel-modem.
It's fully compatible with different brands of wireless cards (first hand experience).

Review: This router has a flawless install system, a great ease of use, and a nice amount of customizable options... (considering its price)... best of all if you actually buy if you will find out its made by Linksys... mine even had a Linksys quality sticker on it... this means good quality, good distance, good speed and great signal strength... Over all a great product.

Summary: A waste of time, money and a fire hazard
Review: This router was the worst thing i've ever seen...honestly making my own router would have been lest frustrating then dealing with the problems this one gave. The network fell every 15-20 minutes and the router over heated so much it almost burnt me. I used an outdoor thermometor to take it's temperature and it was 55 degrees celcius and over! if you want a good router, just pay a little more money and get the Microsoft MN-500. DON'T waste your time on this garabage.

Summary: Tin cans and string would be better...
Review: What can I say? It does not work reliably for any period of time. Crashes occur regularly and require constant resetting. Don't waste your time (or money) unless a newer Firmware is released that corrects the problem.
