Summary: Solid, cheap, easy to setup
Review: I like this unit a lot. I paid for it...AR.
It worked stable for me for 2 weeks (2 wired and 1 wireless computer). No problems at all. Now I sent it to my girlfriend
and she has not set it up yet. Unit was easy to setup and worked
out of box for me. The only strange thing is that when
I want to reset it I need t keep reset button pressed for
more than 3 seconds. Apart from that - very nice [inexpensive],
home unit.

Summary: Serious problems with this product
Review: I purchased this product 5 months ago, and after 2 returns I am trying to get my money back. In case you have any doubt whether to buy this product call Linksys sales (number available on their web site). I just talked a sales representative who says he doesn't recommend the BEFW11P1. It is a hybrid product and is not updated anymore. He says buy a separate Wireless AP/Router and print server. He recommended the BEFW11S4. If you want to understand the real pain of buying this product, here are the gorey details:
4/19 - 5/8: traded mails with Jennifer Cambay (12 mails total). She stopped answering 4/29. Sent 2 mails to ... that weren't answered.
5/13: Talked to Ricky. He approved an exchange. RMA #RH01015236
6/12: Talked to William who gave more suggestions that didn't work
6/21 Talked to technical support again. Second exchange approved. RMA #XH01121359
7/9 Talked to Jason. Called customer service to check status of exchange. Explained they are having shipping system problems. Should ship in next few days.
7/18 Called customer service again. Still shipping system problems. Should ship in next few days.
7/23 Replacement unit arrived
8/6: Talked to Hanam at 2nd tier technical support. Suggested anti-virus problems & interrupts. Didn't solve problems.
8/6: Talked to Tyler at technical support. Same suggestions as previously. He says to call back next day.
8/7: Talked to Carrie at technical support. She says to call sales or customer service to get money back
8/7: Talked to Linksys Sales. He says they don't recommend BEFW11P1 anymore. Hybrid product. Not updated anymore.

Summary: Great product
Review: I really haven't experienced any problems with this product. It works with a Mac (OS 9/X) and a PC (Win 98 2nd edition). Never really had any issues. Print server works great, it's fast, and stable. Mine never ever crashed, and I once transfered a 500MB file between my computers. 300k connection for about 15 feet away (although there is 1 floor and 3 walls between it and the wireless computer. The only other thing I could want is a Mac version of the printer software.

Summary: Linksys has Horrid Support
Review: I received the product and follwed the instruction manual to the letter and am unable to get the product to work. Linksys technical support is virtually non-existent and I have lost at least one day trying to get them on the phone. No-one answers their phones, it is nearly impossible to get a human being on the line, and when they do answer, they say that they will have a tech support expert call you back...THIS CALL BACK NEVER OCCURS. I would not by this or any other product from Linksys.

Summary: A MUST BUY
Review: I wanted to go wireless for a long time and finally decided to purchase the Linksys BEFW11P1. This was the best decision I made because this router was so easy to setup and I did it within 30 minutes. Everything is up and running trouble free. Just to let everyone know I have 1 desktop,1 server,1 PowerPC desktop, 1 PC laptop and a TI Powerbook G4 all running wireless.

Summary: Crashed and burned
Review: I'm shopping for a replacement after a gradual degradation in range (it's down to about 20 feet and a wall in a wood-framed home) joined a chronic problem with dropping the WAN connection and the print server stopped working, as well. Maybe a firmware download would solve it, but the vendor's site left me in doubt about whether it would work at all if I guessed wrong about which firmware was right for my model. And who has time to call customer support for something like this?

Summary: dont get it
Review: I've had the same problems other people have found running this router/print server. To re-iterate, it is necessary to reset the router after some period, generally between five minutes and an hour, because it keeps freezing. I have upgraded the firmware and it still blows.

Linksys should recall this piece of equipment or offer money back to anyone who ordered it and tried to run it on a windows XP machine.

I will try the Netegear router and continue to talk trash about the Linksys company from now on.

Summary: Routing features work well, print server a bit touchy
Review: I've had this product about two weeks and am generally pleased with the functionality. The wireless clients are getting very good throughput (I have the WMP11 wireless PCI card in the clients). The signal and link status are generally in the Excellent and very good range. One of the devices is downstairs from the router about 25 feet away and it performs great! The only issue that I found is that I had to specify a DNS address from my ISP even though I have been assigned a dynamic address. I don't know if they just failed to configure thier DHCP scope with the DNS or what but everytime I take the DNS server out of the static configuration box I can't get to the web. This is not Linksys fault though.

Setting up the print server took a lot more attention than the router did. You have to be careful about setting up the shared port correctly and ensure that print spooling is disabled for your printer. After the first time I set it up I couldn't print no matter what. But after turning the router off/on and then removing the port on the client machine and then re-adding it things are working fine now.

I have another machine with a Compaq WL100 PCMCIA card that I am going to try and configure for use with the router to see how will it works with different vendor's products.

We'll see...

Summary: Drops Internet Connection frequently
Review: I've owned this product for just over one year. It drops the Internet connection so frequently, I've lost count as to how many times I've had to reset the device. Now that it has just slipped out of the one year warranty, it has dropped all wireless functionality.

I don't recommend it.
