Rating: Summary: DEAD at age 22 days Review: I had originally written a review praising this router. It worked right out of the box, easy set-up. But, 22 days after purchase, it started shutting itself off. Would run fine--for approx. 3 minutes, then "lights out" literally. Would have to unplug its powerblock, wait a minute or so, then replug. Still, just the 3 minutes and off again. Took it back to CompUSA (which was "nice" enough to let me exchange it past their 14-day limit, as long as I paid another $4.99 for their 1-year "walk-in replacement" warranty), swapped it out for another of the exact same model. That 2nd one went belly-up the next day; same deal, but the off time varied from the earlier one's 3 minutes. Tried plugging it into another outlet (not my power strip, thinking it might possibly be that); no change. Returned it to CompUSA the next day, exchanged it for their store brand router. That's only been 3 days, but so far, it's still running. We'll see.For me, NO MORE LINKSYS *ANYTHING*.

Rating: Summary: Great Router Review: I have had this router for about 6 months and have no trouble with it. I installed it and haven't had to mess with it since. I did have a little trouble installing it, but I called the Linksys support and we got it figured out. The router is a good product and I found the Linksys support was pretty good. Would recomend

Rating: Summary: Worked decent for a while, but then up and died Review: I purchased this router in August of '03. It seemed to work great, although I did have a "freezing" issue whenever I would attempt to access files on a secondary computer on the network. Primary computer seemed to lock WinXP up for about 25 seconds each time. It only did it if I hadn't accessed the secondary's HDD for several minutes though. So I figured it must be some sort of communication issue between XP on primary box and 98SE on secondary box. But after reading about all these horrible experiences so many people have had with this thing, I now realize it was probably the router. I shall find out soon enough.
Yes, "Seemed" is in the past tense here, as this thing up and failed on me tonight - right out of the blue. As others have reported, "Diag" light stays on all the time and won't reset no matter how many times you push and hold the reset button. It's just dead. I'm pissed, because it only had a 1 year warranty. It did work for a little over a year, but come on - now I'm sitting here on a Friday night totally unable to use my network and unable to contact Linksys support until Monday. If I had known it was going to die right after the warranty was up, I never would have "saved money" buying this cheapest of routers at Fry's Electronics. Anything that dies right after it's 1 year limited warranty is up, in my opinion, is a total scam. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS(...)!!!
Rating: Summary: DLink has better tech support Review: I was in the market for a cheap router solution. The two I picked were the this router and the DLink DI-604. I had trouble setting up w/ both routers, but in the end, I kept the DLink b/c they have support 24/7, where as the Linksys support is only 8-5 PST M-F. Of course, I was setting up the network on the weekend/at night, so DLink was easily the winner here. The Linksys router is less, but in my mind the 24/7 support is worth the extra money. I agree w/ the review from "An electronics fan from Honolulu, HI USA", who said that no cat-5 cable was included. Shima-tech-services claim that the router comes w/ all the cables. Who do you believe?
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I was very impressed with this router...it is small, cheap, and very easy to set-up and use. When I first got it I opened the box, plugged it in and within 10 minutes I had 2 computers and an XBOX all in the same network. I highly reccomend this product.
Rating: Summary: Big Bang for Little Buck Review: I've geen waiting to get a router as a firewall in my home until they were dirt cheap, but good. Here it is...and it works great too. Any idiot could install this thing in minutes, although this idiot made a mistake I want to pass on: If you're using a software firewall like ZoneAlarm, make sure you disable it before installing this router. Although this tripped me up for only 5 minutes, I can see where this would cause a serious headache for a novice (then again, a novice probably doesn't have a software firewall). Other than my initial stupidity, setup is extremely easy and the thing works as advertised. Cheap firewall, and now my laptop can share my home broadband connection when I bring it home from work. The only negative I can think of is that the thing runs hot. I'm sure this is normal and not a problem. Just make sure you don't stack anything on top of it.
Rating: Summary: Can't ask for more in a router. Review: I've used the flagship Linksys 4-port router for the past year but starting last month...it started to have problems. I couldn't connect more than 3 devices to it, and it kept on losing connection with my cable modem. So I then bought a D-Link router...but had to return it because it kept on resetting itself (probably due to overheating). Then I got his Network Everywhere (Linksys Junior) and I'm impressed. It has nearly all the features the more expensive blue Linksys routers have, but is more compact and is fitted inside an attractive metal casing. And it works great...all I did was plug-n-play. I placed a piece of plastic underneath the router so it won't touch the carpet directly...because the carpet will cause the router to get really hot. So place the router on top of something...don't set it directly on the carpet.
Rating: Summary: Its ok, good value Review: it sometimes looses the internet connection, and its a hassle to set up a working ftp/server. besides that i think its a good solution for a home network, or a small bussiness network. its a good value though, buy it and try it!
