Summary: Wi-Fi Networking made easy
Review: This is a wonderful product. For some time now I was pondering plunging into the world of wireless networks but was somewhat put off by the technical jargon and the complexities of installing. After much research, I decided upon this unit. It was extremely easy to install and within 5 minutes I had my two laptops sharing a single broadband connection. I use a notebook with an internal Cisco wi-fi card and I consistently have an awsome connection (granted that my apartment isn't huge). My wife uses a laptop connected with the matching D-Link 650+ PC II Card and has had no problems with the equipment. Both of out laptops run on Windows XP with Pentinum 4M 1.8 processor and plenty or RAM, so I couldn't assure you'll have the same success with older systems.

Summary: Easy, reliable, and cheap
Review: The access point was incredibly easy to set-up, I'm running Windows XP and I was all set up in about 15 minutes (one wired computer, and one wireless laptop). I've found it to be very reliable also. I've never come close to achieving the posted speeds (not a big surprise), but I still get about 7Mbps. My only knock is that in the configuration, you can't shut off SSID broadcasting.

Review: I've been running the D-Link AirPlus DI-614+ with a D-Link DWL-650+ wirless card for about 6 months.The good:
Easy install (READ the instructions FIRST!)
Good connection quality and decent speed.
Worked great for sharing my cable modem for Internet access, file sharing across computers, printer sharing.
The utility that comes with the DWL-650+ card allows you to setup separate profiles for different wireless networks, a great convenience if you want to switch easily between home, work and Starbucks! The bad:
The DWL 650+ PCMCIA failed after a few weeks.
Tech support was really bad, blamed everything but the card. After about a dozen e-mails & phone calls I finally got a tech to admit the card wasn't working since the indicator wouldn't even light up.
Replacement card required securing with my credit card and signing / faxing a 'cross shipment agreement' so they could ship immediately while my old card was being returned. Well they got my old card in a couple days but didn't ship the replacement for several weeks!
After finally getting the defective card resolved (2 months!!) everything worked again fun until ..
It wouldn't support my company's VPN connection through the wireless. (Wired connection does work though!) They're documentation says it supports PPTP VPN Pass through but after several more calls to their tech support, a bunch of configuration changes, the last tech finally said I 'had to understand that VPN requires too many packets for a wireless connection'. So why do my coworker's Linksys systems work fine then?! Bottom Line:
It's fine for setting up a home network and sharing a broadband internet connection. But be wary if you need to do anything more sophisitcated, especially if you ususally need support. Me? I'm buying a Linksys and selling the DLink stuff!

Summary: piece of [junk]
Review: I don't know who these people are that keep giving this hunk of junk 5 stars but they must not be changing the defaults on the router. After 3 days of no success, we're returning this router to get a brand we know works. We have cable internet with DHCP (the default setting) yet it didn't work out of the box. Are you 5 star reviewers forgetting the step of updating firmware? We had to wait an hour an hold to find that out. Then it worked for a bit. We then turned on WEP and the network failed. Renew/release commands weren't working and we could no longer access that 192.... site. Last night we thought we had solved the problem as the network was working great but when we woke up this morning nothing! How can reviewers give this product anything more than 2 stars if you must reset the modem every day or every other day?!? A friend uses the belkin and has NEVER had to reset her router. Should have just bought a belkin. All others thinking of buying a router, ignore those 5 and 4 star reviewers...they must be smoking...or decided to ignore the problems that plague them. I would give this 0 stars if I had the option

Summary: D-link Air+ router
Review: I purchased this product because of it's advertised high transfer rate and the fact that it was a Wireless access point and router combined which would save space. When I went to install the configuration interface on my laptop it did not install completely. When I attempted to delete and reinstall it said the product was already installed. When I attempted to install again it said that the software had already been installed. Within 5 minutes I was not able to use my laptop. To correct this I had to reformat my hard drive and re-install Windows 2000 Pro on my Dell Latitude C-600. I then attempted to load the user interface on my HP PIII desktop and the Web Browser interface/configuration tool would not communicate with the Air+ router.I ended up returning the product and stuck with my old router. As a business owner who uses these products on jobs, I can't afford to install finicky products such as the Air+ router.

Summary: Save current config? Don't believe it!
Review: I'm actually happy with the performance of this router. Wireless is working fine with 2 laptops using a DWL-650+ PC card & a Linksys PC card, as well as a laptop & 2 desktops on the wired side. HOWEVER, contrary to the documentation my config has been blown away each time I've upgraded firmware (2). The first time, I saved my settings to the hard drive, but the file couldn't be read after the upgrade. The second time, I was prepared with a screen-print of my config.

Summary: Recurring issues
Review: ... and have been struggling to get it working consistantly since. I have a Dell laptop with an internal truemobile wireless card. I think there are some compatability issues between the router and the card. I am constantly being disconnected briefly and reconnected. Several of my friends who have also tried this product with Cisco aironet cards have experienced similar problems. Tech support is clueless on how to fix this...

Summary: Really outstanding product for the technically challenged
Review: I had a very bad experience trying to install a Siemens router and exchanged it for this one. What a difference! The set-up was fifteen minutes and one five minute call to tech support. I was so impressed, I installed a D-Link ethernet router in our office. Same rapid simple set-up, and works really well so far. I highly recommend it for the home user who aspires to install equipment, such as a network, but doesn't have a high level of knowledge (like me).

Review: I am the chief computer repairman at my place of business and I use this router at my home. I am extremely pleased with this piece of hardware. It has the highest encription ability (256 bit WEP), cheapest price, great tech support, and delivers great performance. I currently use this router to split my cable to modem to 2 desktop computers and 2 notebook computers. One desktop is connected with a direct wire, while the other three computers use the wireless method. I share one printer will all computers and each computer is using a different OS. The compatilibility with Netgear networking devices is high, but I have noticed a little difficulty with Linksys products. Linksys blames the problem on D-Link, but this merely frustrates me because if three computers will connect with a router, it is obvious if another computer will not connect than there is a problem with the network card. Whenever I have called D-Link I have always recieved helpful tech support but I also know that many other reviewers claimed to not have recieved this. For me, I have had very few problems with this router, and the two times I have, D-Link has helped me correct the problem. Pros:

There is a newer standard out in the 802.11G If you are going to use this to share internet connection, I advise to save some money and buy this router. If you need high speed direct connection between computers than you should look into spending some more and buying the new 54G standard.
