Summary: Easy Setup!
Review: I just got my Linksys BEFSR41 last week and it was a breeze to setup. I now can share my DSL line with both computers in the house and my wife thinks that is great. I feel like a real geek hero. Added security, firewall, to my system is good to have when connecting to the Internet through DSL. Highly recommended for those brave souls who plan on setting up a home network.

Summary: Has all the features, Pity they don't work
Review: I have had this product for a while. For the first few months I owned I had nothing but good things to say about it. It allow multiple PC's to share a connection, provides some measure of improved security, and effectively isolates the DSL PPPoe software so I don't have to install it on my and my wifes PC, and my notebook or reinstall when I upgrade, and gets the PC started because I do not have to log to PPPoe each time my computer turns on. I incorrectly attributed the occasion glitches to my DSL modem.Then I tried to setup a server and use forwarding. This has problems so serious it could only be described as unworkable. Some other people don't have the same problem, others do. I have tried everything. The Tech Support is useless. I plan to try a competitors product, anyone want to swap?

Summary: A good piece of gear
Review: This was my very first foray into the world of networking and other than a little impatience with my own learning curve it was easy. The walk-through html-based setup program worked well, once the fog lifted from my brain. It was relatively intuitive and easy to understand. I did not have to use the telephone customer service. It's only been in service a short time so I can't speak to durability, but it just sits there blinking occasionally, and more importantly, working.... It's easier than you'd find on windows. No surprise there but it's a worthwhile read. The Linksys router is a nice, inexpensive piece of gear and worth the money.

Summary: bad product, bad support
Review: I have called linksys on many occasions regarding the support of this product. the product failed after a firmware upgrade. I have had the worst time getting linksys to provide support for thier own products. let just say I am out $. and they dont care because they already have my money.

Review: I have two of these and both work perfect. I've never had a problem with them. The Web-based admin interface is very easy to use. I highly recommend this item.

Summary: Easy as Pie
Review: I bought this router to set up a home network for a college house. I was very surprised, and happy when I got it. There was nothing to install, and only minor configuration neccesary. Everything conected right up and the network was up and running in 10 minutes! There is step by step instructions, also, if you have no clue how to configure your network. One problem I noticed when I recomended this router to a friend was there is no instructions what-so-ever on how to configure your computer if you are running Windows 2000 or XP, it just says to see your windows' owners manual, although I'm sure that will be fixed soon enough.

Summary: GREAT PRODUCT!
Review: its basically a plug-and-play device, only u need to unplug power from your modem to let the memory reset so the IP adress' match up. Just baught it today, so i cant say there are any major problems yet, but its cheap, and it does exactly what i want it to, thats give high speed internet to 2 computers. I use it with a Surfboard 3100 cable modem.

Review: The product arrived DOA. Waited on hold with Tech for 50 minutes to get RMA since I live in same city as Linsys HQ. They still require me to send it in and wait.

Summary: LinkSyS 4-Port Cable Router
Review: A few month ago I added cable modem Interent service (ATT Broadband/New England). The technician came in and setup the service on my laptop which I also use at work. That was a smooth process and I was blazing on the Internet. Unfortunately, ATT Broadband/New England uses your MAC address of your cable modem and your network card to verify and release a signal to your machine (ie. another machine will not work on the system). Therefore you need to purchase a router like this one which has its own MAC address which you have to call ATT broadband and tell them this 12-digit ID number. Once you do this it works great. The only problem I ran into was I initially tried to clone the MAC address onto the router...don't do this it will crash and lock you out of service and access to the controls of the router. Good buy for the money.
