Summary: wireless pleasures
Review: Now here is what you want and thought it was not available.

The 8.11b full compatible wireles device that works with almost any access point in your house including your Apple airport base station ! Install the drivers that will also work with Windows XP, connect your USB device to your computer or hub and restart your computer. The reach and power is beyond belief. The green monitor will show in the low right corner of your computer and you are on line.

Looks like a device from a toy store but is worth its weight in gold! ...

Summary: WOW
Review: If only the rest of the software/hardware industry adobting this easy installation and useability. I bought two of these to work with my wireless router and was up in no time. Now with WinVNC installed I'm able to exchange files between both computers and surf the net at blazing speeds.

Summary: Another excellent Linksys Product
Review: I have purchased many different linksys products, routers, switches, wireless devices, etc. And just like all the other linksys products I use, this one was also very easy to setup and install. I noticed there were quite a few bad reviews regarding these USB wireless adapters. However, I just setup 3 of them on 3 different computers running XP with no problems at all, and each took no longer than 4-5 minutes to setup. I would highly recommend this product to anybody who wants the convenience of wireless while having the flexibility of a USB-powered device.

Summary: Wires again? No, thanks!
Review: Excellent product.

With Linksys WAP and wireless USB adapter I've connected my home PC to my office network. Buildings are over 300 meters away from each other, but usual signal quality is not lower than 70-80 percent. So this device allows me to control my network remotely and it also provides me broadband Internet connection, which we have in the office.

When it's rainy, I just stay at home and work from there. :) Thanks to Linksys.

Summary: Unsigned, non-working XP drivers
Review: First of all, there are at least two (2) devices, very different in appearance, that are BOTH called WUSB11. I have, apparently, the one without the fold-out antenna pictured above.

The Windows ME drivers for this product caused blue-screen errors on my Vaio PCG-FX210 until I finally removed them. The Windows XP driver doesn't appear to work at all (it recognizes the unit, but won't see any networks.) The XP driver is also unsigned, and the installation instructions tell the hapless user to simply ignore the unsigned driver warnings from XP. Since they've had plenty of time to have the driver qualified by Microsoft, my guess is they just haven't gone to the trouble to make it reliable enough to pass Logo testing.

For what it's worth, I've relegated this thing to use on an older machine running Windows 98, and it seems stable enough in that configuration.

Maybe the "other" WUSB11 and its drivers are more stable.

Summary: Easy Install and Great Reliability
Review: This particular product works great. Currently I have 3 computer being routed to the main access point (Linksys BEFW11S4). All of our system run off of win98 and there has not been a problem. 100% connectivity to router through 2 walls and 85% connectivity to the other computer that resides in the basement.

Most of the problems people have are due to the router programming. "Remember to read directions throughly" on setting router controls.

Summary: Perfect for my little 3-unit home LAN
Review: I love these things! I've got a small 3-unit LAN set up and these little gems work great! Easy to set up and easy to use. My brother-in-law is looking at doing the same type of setup for his house and I will definitely point him to using these.

Summary: Unfinished Work
Review: I purchased the WUSB11 (ver. 2.5) to replace my WUSB11 (ver. 1) which was released only months earlier. Linksys admitted that version one would not work with my WAP11 (ver. 1) access point and Windows XP.

I just upgraded to the latest driver and firmware which has left me unable to receive any packets. I am left wondering if I will need to replace my WAP11 access point with one of the other hardware revisions recently released.

Based upon how many hardware, firmware, and software revisions that these products have undergone in the last year, building a reliable Linksys wireless network can be an expensive and tiring project.

Summary: A few kinks starting up, but works like a charm
Review: It was a little hinky out of the gate, but eventually made peace with my router and now everyone's happy. I actually think the initial setup problems were related to interference issues. Since moving the adapter a few feet further from my speakers (which contain magnets and thus create interference with the wireless signal), it's been great.

One caveat... Linksys tech support is very hit and miss. The first guy I talked to was an [unknowledgable person] who any created additional problems that shut down my whole network for an afternoon. The next guy I talked to was awesome.
