Summary: If I could give it 0 stars I would...
Review: I bought this router and have Comcast Digital Cable. It simply does not work unless you get a static IP address - which Comcast (and possibly other cable providers) will not give out. So I talked to one of Linksys' tech support guys in India who said that I need to buy a new modem - which I did, and it still doesn't work.

To top it all off, each time I have called tech support I have:
- Waited for at least 40 minutes to get through
- Been hung up on by their automated line
- Spoken to someone in India who doesn't know what he's doing and doesn't care if you're satisfied with the product or not

As I sit here again on the tech support line watching another wasted hour of my life go by, I wonder why I ever bought this product and why companies think it's OK to torture their customers.

Run away... far away....

Summary: Pleasant surprise
Review: I bought d-Link 624 yesterday. - Couldn't get it to work. Their advertized 24/7 tech support is a hoax. There was no one there. So bought Linksys instead. The last box in store, which was a good sign. I was up and running in few minutes. Works like a charm. Can't notice that two workstations are sharing the same internet connection.

Summary: Product does not perform to specifications
Review: Linksys product WRT54G did not perform to specifications, which indicated wireless connectivity up to 130 feet. Distance between host and remote was about 60 feet. No matter what channel I selected and after applying the latest firmware and recommended technical support troubleshooting, the signal strength was always "very low" and communication from the remote PC via the WUSB54G adapter was consistently intermittent. Status kept switching between "available" and "unavailable." Many hours were spent debugging an unfixable problem. Product was either from a bad manufacture batch or the specified maximum range (distance) is greatly overstated. I would not recommend wireless home networking until quantum strides in product performance/quality have been made.

Summary: TERRIBLE Tech Support/Customer Service
Review: This piece of equipment is not for the unskilled. If you think it's plug and go NOT! I'm still waiting for tech support, when reached they were rude, short and unhelpful. The on hold time was approximately 30 minutes each call, and then no HELP! It took me 2 days to figure out the conflict myself.

Summary: Worst wireless router ever made
Review: Don't buy this crappy product. It will take 1/2 day to setup with 2-3 hours with the customer support. Probably building a rocket will be easier than setting this up. Waste of time and money.

Summary: Have used it almost a year
Review: I've had the wrt54g router and the wpc54g card for about a year. During this time I've been
hoping that the connectivity issues would be resolved with the next release of the firmware
for the router or driver for the laptop. Instead I go from one absurd situation to the next
absurd situation. With each problem I have to find a work around. The problems seem
to be related to the overhead incurred when encryption is enabled. With wep enabled and the
laptop only inches from the router, I would lose the signal every five minutes. To fix this
what I would do is login to the router, not change anything and save the settings. Then I
was able to use the web without losing the connection every five minutes. Then wpa encryption
came out. This also requires installing an update from microsoft :-(. Initially this fixed the
dropped conncection every 5 minutes problem but it caused a delay in establishing the initial
connection with the router of about 3 minutes. You're sitting there twiddling your thumbs
waiting for it to connect. Microsoft came out with a fix for the delay and while it reduces
the connect time to only a few seconds, the connection is lost after about 3 minutes. Further
the windows xp wireless client does not report that the connection has been lost, instead
it shows that everything is just fine and dandy. The work around that I've been using for this
is that when the connection is lost, I disable it and then I enable it again. Linksys tech support

is less than useless; all they've done is waste my time.

Summary: Well I'm happy.....
Review: Plugged it in, stacked it up cloned the MAC address and began surfing. Works perfect pretty much right out the box! Can't ask for much more than that. This replaces my old Linksys wired router that has been a good performer also.

Although Linksys provides VERY little support, their products work fine with Mac's using OS X.

Summary: Piece of Cake!!
Review: I have a VAIO FRV31 and use Windows XP. I am by no means a computer expert (not even close!) All I did was follow the directions and I was up and running in about 15 minutes. I also installed the Wireless G Adapter. I have walked all around my house and have found no dead spots. This is a great product and I have to believe that even the most computer challenged person out there could set this up. Merry Christmas.

Summary: Worked Like a Charm
Review: I was skeptical about my ability to set up a wireless network in my home even though all I was trying to do was share my cable modem connection. However, I installed the router and hard wired it to my Windows 98 desktop and installed a Linksys PCI adapter (WMP54G) in my Windows XP desktop. It worked like a charm. Two recommendations: (1) Configure the router using the Web utility. Do not install the router software -- no need to. (2) Change the frequency from the default setting using the utility. I was picking up someone else's wireless initially.

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: This is the first time I install a network in my home. The Linksys products (g-router, pci cards and PCMCIA) installed without a hitch. The network was up in less than 2 hours.

All my PC's have XP or XP Pro.

Great Product, excellent speed (54mbps), I have a 512Kbs cablemodem line to my house.
