Summary: D-Link has some fast "G" Speeds that are the Way to Go!
Review: I have this router along with the laptop adapter from D-Link. I can be anywhere in my home and get a strong signal. This was easy to set up and works seamlessly with my wifes laptop that uses 802.11b still. When she isn't isn't home or when her PC is off it seems to me that I can get slightly better transfer speeds. I am mainly concerned with everything working well across both "B" and "G" not so much with the speed capabilities.
This router, like other D-Link products I've tried, has a simple and intuative interface that allows you to change a wide array of things so you feel more in control. Or you can just leave them as default and be on your merry way. For me, it has worked as advertised and it feels good. It isn't very often that you can get something this complex in features at such a low price, and on top of that so easy to use.

Summary: Great w/ G650, bad with everything else
Review: I bought this product and had great speeds w/ the G-650 PCMCIA card attached. However, I also wanted an external antenna to get better range so I bought D-link's 120 USB network adapter. After wasting a Saturday night with tech support for over 2 hours, I finally realized the DI-624 does not work with 802.11b, even it's own products. My adapter kept connecting, then after 1 second, disconnecting. Tech support claimed that I needed to slow down my router so my 802.11b adapter could read it. However, there is no way to slow down the router to do this in the first place!

Summary: Very nice piece of equipment
Review: 802.11g is a great thing. Speeds this fast are almost unoticable. What I mean is you really can't tell if you are wireless or wired to your network because of the speeds this protocol delivers. I have this router and the CardBus adapter for my laptop and the speeds are excellent. I can't get enough of it. The features on this D-Link model are great. Plenty of security options, with "to-be-added" WPA and 802.1x coming soon, and the high bit WEP. This router has provided solid internet access for me for about 2 weeks now and I am very greatful for going with D-Link. i think you will be too.

Summary: Great Start for 802.11g and it Can Only Get Better From Here
Review: I have this DI-624, a DWL-G650(802.11g CardBus), and a DWL-650+(802.11b+ CardBus). Everything is working great for me. I get good range and good speeds at those ranges. My wife uses the DWL-650+ in her laptop and I use the DWL-G650 in mine. We both get great range in our home, every room is covered. The speeds are more than enough for web browsing, playing games online, and your everyday normal network traffic. The setup of this router and these cards were very simple and had easy to follow directions to go along with them. The router's setup was equally simple. It had a simple setup wizard that guides you through the steps needed to get up and running properly.

Summary: Good but....
Review: If your WLAN only includes 802.11G based devices this device will be very usefulll for you. (It deserves 5 stars) Wireless setup is very very simple and effective. Firewall, Filters (MAC, URL, Domain), Virtual Server (Virtual Server is used to allow Internet users access to LAN services), DMZ features is very good and all of them is working without a problem. You can also do some fine tunnings for WLAN performance. (Beacon, RTS, DTIM etc.)
128 bit WEP encryption nearly does not have any effect on the WLAN performance. It is two times faster than 802.11b (13-14 Mbit real world performance) and worked in 90 feet without a problem. And I think the size and looks of the router is more cool than others. But here is the conclusions:
Almost all system settings changes forces the router to reboot without asking to user!
This device is not fully compitable with 802.11b devices. (i.e HP iPAQ 5450) There is no settings for wireless modes. I mean I could not set the router to 802.11b only mode. Forcing the router to 11Mbit in performance settings is simply not working. If you have 802.11g PCI/PCMCIA adaptor it is imposiible to slow down the router.
In the case of 802.11b compatiblity, I totally dissatisfied about D-Link Support.
And remmember that 802.11G is a draft standart.

Summary: can't handle browser idle time (poor support)
Review: Installation was easy and everything looked great. Until I tried to access the internet via my browser the next morning ("page cannot be displayed"). All ideas of the helpdesk how to fix it didn't change anything (we exchanged about 20 emails) so that they agreed it was a hardware problem. I returned it and got the next one with the same problem. The answer of the helpdesk this time: don't use ZoneAlarm. And if this is not the problem, then it must be Windows XP. Unfortunately, shutting down ZoneAlarm didn't fix the problem. So the problem must be Windows XP in their opinion. That's an easy excuse because nobody can prove anything and I got stuck with my router and my problem. So I returned it. Conclusion: if you have a dial-up connection and don't stay connected while being idle, this is a good product. If you have a cable modem and don't shut down your computer all the time, try a different router.

Summary: Fast w/ good range, but sometimes I lose connection..
Review: bought this wireless router along with the DWL-G650 wireless card adapter and overall it pretty good. it is quite fast, no complaints there, and has great range (i can use it in any room in my house, even downstairs). the only compliant i have is that once in a while, my laptop loses connection after it has been on standby or has been powered off. its easy to fix (i just unplug the router for a few seconds and plug it back in) but its just annoying since the router is in another room and i have to walk over there. i'd say this happens on average, once every couple days. its not so inconvenient that i'm returning the router, but if it worsens at all, then i probably will (i bought the router and card together from costco, which has a good return policy). it's a pretty expensive router, so while i haven't had many problems at all, you may be able to find a better deal for your money elsewhere.

Summary: If you don't care for 24x7 connection, it's still decent
Review: This router is simple to configure and use.
However, there are 2 major problems I can not get over with:
1. It doesn't not work with 11.b wireless cards in encryption mode.
2. It drops connections very very very randomly, from once a day to every 5 minutes on a random night.
At first I thought it was cable modem problem, and spoke with cable company. Recently when it finally decides to stop working on its own for no reason, and I was forced back to direct connection w. cable modem, my connection hasn't dropped since.
Of course, I haven't had a chance to try the newest firmware. It was good for 1.5 year usage of it. It's time for me to try a new one.

Summary: A Full-Featured High-Performance "Piece of Junk".
Review: I used to love D-Link so I replaced my old "b"-band di-614+ with this "G"-band Xtreme di-624 and what a day and night.
I would give some stars for it's performance and features but the hassle dealing with its problems is not worth it.
Go do a Google search for "d-link di-624" and you would read from countless victims of this product.
It works great when it chooses to. But sometimes it just does not want to connect with the cable modem. Or it just keeps restarting every few minutes like most users have complained. It also seemed that one must use a special "crash recovery" method to load the newest firmware (2.50). Either firmware for my Rev.C router yields the same results. Normally a couple reboots with manual network cable disconnect/reconnect would make the router 'fly' again but would not stop me from constantly turning my head to the modem to check for connection light.
I would spend a little more and give up some features for a stable and worry-free router. I would even consider buying the old "b"-versions but not this junk. I think paying consumers really want a stability and a worry-free, or at worst a fixable router.

Summary: A Problem Router
Review: Stay away from this router (and D-Link). I purchased the DI-624 in September and after 30+ days, started having problems with the router rebooting (dropping connection) and locking up one of my Java programs. After many hours on the phone with their technical support people, they determined the router was faulty and should be replaced. I sent the router to them and they sent me an identical router (identical in every way). Within days, the new router exhibited the same problem. After several support people tried to help me, they turned me over to what I think was a specialist with a call back number. After trying several things, he said to return the router and they would send me a different router that should solve the problem. He stated that this model probably would not work in my situation.
He made arrangements and I completed the paperwork for the change. Then I received a call stating that I would owe an additional $30 for the upgrade. I am not into sending good money after bad, so I cancelled the upgrade and told them to send me another DI-624. So, after six months of dealing with D-Link, I would advise others to stay away from this brand altogether.
