Summary: Great bang for the buck
Review: I've had this router now for a few months and it has worked flawlessly. Throughput is very high when networking several PCs together. The setup is quick and painless and you're up and running in under 10 minutes. I have run into difficulties setting up a secure wireless connection with a laptop w/ centrino wireless, but I don't believe that to be a problem with the router itself since the wireless connection does work without the WEP encryption enabled (work laptop with high security VPN setup). Overall, this is a great product for anyone looking to start up a home network, no matter what your networking expertise may be.

Summary: Just would not hold a signal
Review: I am (was) a big Netgear Fan, until this router. My previous Netgear Router (MR314) worked great, but I wanted to upgrade to the "G" Speed throughtout my house. After buying two (2) of the WGR614's (recommended by Netgear)and spending countless hours on hold with Technical Support(India), this Router could never hold a signal and every few hours to every few days needed to be re-set. Set-up was very easy on the Netgear, but having to buy 2 units and both not working, I changed to the Linksys WRT54G and never have had a dropped signal yet. Speed is great, set-up was a breeze and they have US Technical support. Sorry Netgear.

Summary: great product
Review: I got tired of my Linksys 802.11b router disconnecting randomly when using my wireless card and the intermittent problems w/ MSN Messenger 6.1. Using audio in MSN, the other party hears me but I can't hear them although the router uPnp is on and i see the ports automatically being opened by the router via uPnP. Also, wireless signal fluctuates like crazy using either my SMC or Linksys card. Sometimes my laptop is 5 ft away and it still drops connection. With Netgear 802.11g, with uPnP on, MSN messenger works flawlessly. Signal strength has always been above 80%. I have not experienced disconnection problems yet. My 2.4Ghz phone doesn't conflict w/ it at all. Changing config such as port forwarding/triggering doesn't reset the router unlike linksys. My only complain is, if you use a 802.11b card once, router drops all wireless connection to 11mbps max, even after i shutoff the 802.11b machine. i had to turn off/on the router and just just use the 'g' card only to maintain high transmission rate.

Summary: amazon rocks
Review: I ordered this product plus the wireless PC card on Feb. 10 using the free shipping, and I got them the very next day! That's super fast!

Plus, the product is really easy to install, and works perfectly, just like a wired system.

Kudos to both Amazon and Netgear

Summary: Great form and features, terrible firmware quality - WG614V2
Review: This is a very well designed product from the look of the box. It has many attractive features and an easy to use user interface. Initial setup is a snap. Has clear and simple instructions. However, you must know:
1. It overheats, and must be placed in a cool spot.
2. The firmware has some considerable issues, and upgrades are a pain. One critical issue, is that some 2.4Ghz wireless phones will not just cause interference with the signal, but will cause the router to crash, disconnect both wired and wireless ports and require a "hard" power off reboot. When this happens every time you get a phone call it becomes unbearable, and that is why it has gotten varied milage by people.

If you buy it, go back to a 900Mhz phone....

Summary: Great for PC's but not game stations
Review: This router is great if you are simply setting up a wireless with PC's, but it does not work well with the Sony Playstation2. It refuses to allow the USB headset to work in online play. This is after setting up a DMZ, port forwarding, etc.
If it worked for PS2, I would highly recommend it.

Summary: Works great with Mac OS X
Review: I bought this router so that I could make use of my high-speed access (DSL) throughout the house. Set-up and configuration were a snap, although the default configuration is not very secure, and you will definitely want to do things like change the admin password, enable MAC authentication and WPA encryption, and so on. With my Ti Powerbook G4 I get great reception throughout my house (which is old and has thick walls). I also have a first-generation iMac and an old Laserwriter connected to the router by Ethernet, so both computers can reach the internet and I can print wirelessly from the Powerbook. Very nice, and much, much cheaper than Apple's Airport Extreme base station. Highly recommended.
