Review: I bought this modem to replace the RCA modem rented from Comcast. I opened the box, obtained the MAC number, serial number, and model number and called Comcast tech support. They logged in the information and then I powered everthing down and connected the modem using the ethernet cable. I also have a hub connected to the modem output for another computer. I powered up and everything worked perfectly. Couldn't ask for more than that.

Review: The version sold me was version 1. This is an old version. Version 2 is the current version. Requests for the version before purchased received evasive replies. Version 2 has more features. So make sure you get the current version

Summary: Linksys Cable Modem (BEFCMU10)
Review: Excellent product. I have purchased 4 of these cable modems for myself & other family members using AT&T Broadband in the Seattle area. I haven't had a single issue yet. I have also used Linksys router/switches & network cards, both wired & wireless & they are easy to setup & use. Overall, the company produces good quality products.

Summary: Great product...but loud
Review: Looks great, sets up easily, and performs flawlessly.
One main problem though: it buzzes like a bee is stuck inside. The power supply drones constantly and is very annoying. Not sure if this was normal, so I spent 15 minutes discussing this with their Tech Support line, which never seemed to understand what I was taking about. I finally determined that YES this is normal.
So I recommend it, just don't use it in a quiet room.

Summary: Easy setup, great performance
Review: After getting tired of spending $$$ a month to rent a cable modem I bought the Linksys Etherfast. It's been stellar in every way. Setup was quick and simple with no glitches. Once installed, it has performaed reliably and and with all the speed you would expect from a cable modem. The lights on the front panel are simple and easy to read and it is very simple to operate. In summary, this is really a great cable modem and the price is very reasonable. It would be an excellent purchase for anyone ready to get broadband Internet access.

Summary: Brilliant Modem. Must Buy
Review: ...I then saw this modem, and having had an excellent history with Linksys, decided to buy it. I had the modem up and running in 10 minutes, 7 of which were being on hold with the cable company :). That was over 3 months ago, and since then I have had the modem on 24/7, never turned it off, and it hasn't overheated, shut down, de synchronized, etc. Beautiful flawless performance, and an EXCELLENT modem for my network. Why are you still reading this? Just buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Review: I was really excited to get this modem at a good price.
Got it in the mail yesterday and called my ISP (Cox in Virginia to set up.)
Gave the tech the MAC address and we could never get it to work.
Not sure if
A. the modem is defective
B. this version of the modem won't work with COX
C. I had a bad tech on the phone with me. I just had the tech put in the rental's MAC (a Toshiba PCX1100) and everything was back up.
Guess I'm gonna ship this bad boy back and buy something else.....

Summary: Best deal... SOOOO easy to set up!
Review: My parents just joined the world of high-speed internet today, and I got them this brand of cable modem in order to save the leasing costs of one. Well, setting it up was a true breeze (like five minutes) and best of all, the price was unbeatable. I have absolutely no complaints about it and only nice things to praise it for. Way to go, Linksys! I am on my way to purchasing their wireless card to hook up with the wireless network in school.
