Summary: Did not work....
Review: I tried for a couple of days to get this adapter to talk to my Ipaq h2215. I managed to get filesharing to work, but not the networking, internet or activesync connections.

The "manual" is next to worthless, and nearly devoid of usable information.

Incidentally, I have some spread spectrum wireless phones that are 2.4 Ghz units. The working range with this adapter was about 2 feet. Whether it was due to the phones, I don't know, but I was very dissappointed in the range.

Summary: V2 is very good
Review: I was an early adapter of the version-1 of this product which was unstable and lacked many of the bluetooth functionality, but was adequate to sync my T68i. However, when I upgraded my phone to T610, along with a bluetooth headset, I realized I am missing a lot of functionality with the old adapter and learned that the V1 model can't be even upgraded to Bluetooth 1.1. So, instead of throwing it away, I just thought of checking with their customer service about a possible exchange, and they were very kind to agree immediately (I should say I am impressed with the customer service). So I got a free upgrade to the version-2 of this model and I am glad I did that. So far the product has been very stable and installation and setting up was a breeze. I was able to successfully synchronize T610 (I use an old verion of PDASync for that as the built-in sync doesn't support PalmDT), copy images from and to the phone, dial-up to ISP through it, and even used it as a headset for the phone (could occassionally substitute the the missing speaker phone functionality in T610). I could also successfully use the Jabra BT200 headset with this adapter, very useful to do voice chats at home.

The range seemed good, however I couldn't verify the claimed 100m, as I need another device which gives that much range. Over all I am impressed and recommend it. However, I have no knowledge of other adapters so I am not really comparing with other adapters (except the V1 of itself). To comment about the size, I would say it is average (a little longer but slimmer than V1). The DLink adapter does seem smaller, but the highly rated Linksys adapter seemed much fattier than this one. If size is important, I recommend checking it out and compare with others in a local store.

PS: I am pretty sure that all the -ve comments about this product actually belong to the version-1 of this product. Since Amazon didn't put up any image for some time, many must have mistaken this for the version-1 and must have rated it based on that. You should really ignore all the old reviews.

Summary: Can be configured for PDA web browsing
Review: The other reviewer are right. The device functions basically as a Bluetooth serial COM port. It can be configured to provide a serial connection with a Tungsten at up to 115,200 bps. The instructions in a Brighthand.com forum work well except rather than picking cradle/cable connection, I chose the paired Bluetooth connection originally established for Bluetooth Hotsync'ing. After setting up web browsing, you will have to Hotsynch through the Network connection established (instructions provided) rather than through the original HotSync
setup, since that is modified to provide the serial network connection or do as I do, use USB for HotSynching and Bluetooth for browsing (USB is a LOT faster...

Summary: Several problems with Windows XP
Review: There are some issues with this Belkin bluetooth adapter and wanted to warn potential buyers. I purchased this adapter a a local retailer despite warnings from other reviewers here.

Mac OS 10.3.5 - Works perfectly as every other bluetooth adapter I've tried.

Windows XP SP1a, SP2 - Works right after installing the WIDCOMM bluetooth drivers. Stops working after the first restart. Continue to get "invalid license key" "shutting down bluestackserver"--or something similar.

The inconclusive problem is that while it works, it detects other bluetooth devices fine on my HP work computer. However, on my computer (with Asus P4C800-E motherboard) it fails to detect a Nokia N-Gage QD several feet away while a Nokia 6620 was detected. Using the bluetooth drivers in Windows XP SP2 fixes the problem detecting the N-Gage QD, so it appears the problem surrounds the WIDCOMM 1.4.2.10 drivers on the CD--the latest by the way.

Summary: Which one is this?
Review: There are two versions of this adapter:
F8T001_v1
F8T001_v2

The picture in this page shows version 2, but oi does not state what version is this. The PDF manual for download correspond to a different adapter (CF card)

Amazon could you be more specific?

Summary: Despite the other reviews...
Review: This works just fine with XP, SP2. Used it both on a VAIO PCG-F540 as well as a Toshi P35-S629. Both 'tops connect instantly to my Moto v600 phone, and using the Mobile Phonetools software (one other reviewer downgraded the Belkin because he could connect to but not browse his phone - What, Belkin is supposed to include software for that?), viola - bluetooth bliss. I withheld a star due to the fact that though Belkin does include the Widcomm drivers, they do NOT include all of the Bluetooth profiles.

Summary: didn't pair with Nokia 3650
Review: Though Nokia's tech told me Belkin's bluetooth adapter worked with their phone, when I bought it and tried it, I could move photos and media back and forth between phone and PC, but could not get an official "pair" and thus Nokia's PC Suite would not open and mrouter would not show connection. I like the device because it is small, cute, and works with USB, but my Nokia is the only bluetooth device I have, so I will return it. I am trying Socket's Bluetooth PC Card and it also is not working for my Nokia 3650. Wondering if Nokia phone has a big problem.

Summary: Wont Detect My Phone 99% Of The Time. Very Horrible Range.
Review: Well let me start off by saying this is my first usb bluetooth adapter and bluetooth capable mobile phone. I recently purchased the Samsung D500 along with the Belkin F8T001 bluetooth usb Adapter, the adapter costed me like $43 wit tax and with my discount the regular price is $55 with tax. But im still mad though and as you see our discount sucks!!!

But anyway, since im getting a great phone, i wanted to get a great adapter, and i have 1 or 2 belkin products already. No real problems with them, and at my jobs website, i saw good reviews. So i purchased it, i was gonna get the cheaper 10 meters one, but i live in a 2 family house. I wanted the wireless freedom of 100 meters ive heard so much about. So i go and buy it asking one of my co-workers (a computer tech) is it a good *bluetooth usb adapter*, and he shook his head NO! I really should of listen to him. The cd software installed easy enough, so i follow the instructions, plugged the adapter in and it detected the adapter, WINDOWS XP-SP2 installed its own drivers, telling me that it couldnt locate drivers on the cd. So everything appeared to work on the restart, but the adapter didnt detect my phone, saying "BLUETOOTH DEVICE NOT FOUND. PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICE IS PROPERLY CONNECTED AND TURNED ON. My phone detected the pc, and oddly enough i could transmit files from the pc to the phone. But i couldnt take stuff from the pc, and the range of the adapter is a joke. For the file to transfer, i have to be right on top of the pc instead of the advertised 100 meters away.

In conclusion thats why this horrible device gets 1 star, if i could give it -5 stars i would. *DONT BUY IT, IF YOU WANNA TRANSFER DATA FROM YOUR PC TO YOUR PHONE, OR FROM YOUR PHONE TO YOUR PC* I will be returning it tomorrow, and getting something else (but we dont really carry many other brands of usb adapters) or going somewhere else, maybe like COMPUSA. For the Linksys USBBT100 Bluetooth USB Adapter.

Summary: Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter
Review: Without a picture I can't be sure we are all talking about the same thing. I have a Belkin USB Bluetooth Adapter (Model #F8T001). I've used the adapter on both my laptop and PC with good results. The laptop went much more smoothly because I ran the installation CD first before inserting the USB. If you plug and play, Windows recongnizes something, but cannot find the drivers easily. The 100m range seems optimistic, but I have been able to access my Sony Ericsson t68i phone while it is sitting in my bag, in the corner of the office.
