Summary: Great Router, great pricing
Review: Set-up was very easy and so far this unit has worked perfectly. Telnet access is flawless. I am still playing around with some of the other features. I am very impressed with it to date.

Summary: D-Link DI-804 Broadband Gateway
Review: Skimmed through manual for about 10 minutes. Networked 4 computer and all when very smooth. Once Cat5 cable was run and RJ45 connectors were installed I configured Sw/router and 4 computers in about 1 hour. Piece of cake..
I haven't tried Tech Support so know nothing of there service.

Summary: Wonderful product to connect multiple machines to the 'net
Review: Super tight! Connected my 2 Macs to the Internet and each other in less than 2 minutes. Installation manual was simple to understand, and Mac setup couldn't have been easier. I'm up and running two Macs with a cable modem, and love it. Beautiful product for performance, function, and ease; sadly not in the physical sense.

Summary: Unreliable -- dropped connections -- returned it
Review: The DI-804 installed ok. However, the set-up wizard did not work as well as it should for cloning a MAC address like my ISP requires.

The DI-804 worked to get my home network up and runnning. However, it failed to be able to maintain connections with my PC during any length of time spent using the internet. After some use, it would just drop the connection with my PCs.

I tried to contact D-Link via email. They were not responsive, just sending out a note to upgrade the firmware. I did that and it didn't help. I sent back a reply that it was still not working. They did not reply.

I am returning the product to Amazon and taking the hit on the shipping charges. Ten dollars and 10 hours of wasted time.

Summary: Great product, except for the manual
Review: The product is great, it worked right out of the box in 5 minutes, and worked as expected. The only problem that I saw was that the manual refered to the product as wireless, which is not.

So, if you want a low cost router for you home network, buy this product.

Summary: Easy to use and works well
Review: There is not much to say except that its very easy to set-up (does not take a genius) and it works just fine. What else can you ask for?

Summary: Confounded thing
Review: There was much distress and cursing the name of dlink for the last several months-hence the 3 stars. I tried and tried and tried till I was blue in the face trying to get this confounded thing to work. I finally by accident 8 months later discovered that you dont have to connect the dsl like you had to without it-you simply click explored or netscape. If the gods at dlink would have conveyed this simple message much sinful behaviour on my part would have been averted-and I even might have bought some dlink shares. Otherwise-5 stars. It works flawlwssly now.

Summary: TCP/IP connectivity issues
Review: This is a great little router...when and if it works. Most nights it has some type of weird TCP/IP connectivity issue, no matter what firmware I'm using. It constantly drops packets, causing me to be signed off AIM repeatedly and lag in video games. If I bypass the router and connect my DSL modem to my computer, my dsl connection will work fine. I can find no possible cause for this connectivity issue, and get no response to any tech support contact I make. This is the ONLY router I have ever had a weird problem like this with, and I have worked with many routers. I have tried numerous different DSL modems with this router, and it still has the same problem. However, on the rest of the nights when the router does work, it works pretty great. Documentation on the control panel's features is pretty scarce, newcomers to the router may be scared off by the advanced features in the setup menu. If you find this router for a good price, it may be worth it. But if you are going to spend [$$$], I would recommend going with a linksys model.

Summary: D-Link DI-804
Review: This product installed easily and works as advertised. I am using it to connect two computers to a cable modem internet service. It allows simultaneous use of both comuters on the internet and also networks the computers so they can exchange files. The DHCP addressing works flawlessly.
