Summary: What else do you want for a router cost less than ...
Review: 1. Extremely easy to set up (Always read the manual before installation); 2. Price is great (I do lots of research before buy, trust me); 3. Work Fine. It show a little delay (few seconds) when hook up to internet compare w/ direct connect, but I guess it's normal & everything is fine then. Highly recommended. ** I also use D-Link DWL-1000AP to make better access for my 2nd floor notebook, but the link quantity & signal strength is only poor to fair.I'm disappointed.

Summary: Good product, poor documentation.
Review: After considerable frustration, I finally found the solution to an elementary setup problem. The symptom: connection to WAN light on; no connectivity to the cable modem AND Device Status also reported no connection. The solution: press the recessed Factory Reset button on the back of the router. The result: immediate connectivity through to my ISP and the Internet. Furthermore, none of my router settings seemed to change (e.g., my password was intact). Raises the question of what "factory reset" really means. Can't seem to find it in the documentation. The lesson: it's just the usual poor documentation. You'll get it installed eventually, but it will probably go faster if you can recruit a consultant who's done it before.

Summary: Best for your Buck!!!
Review: Bought this router about a week ago. Very easy to setup!. The router did not degrad my DSL connection. I still average 1150KBPS from Pacbell DSL. The router has a uplink port so that you can add additional switchs. The WAN speed is 10MBPS unlike older Hawking Routers which are rated at 1MBPS and actualy don't achive that rating. This router is very simple to configure. I highly recommend the DI-804!, It's easy to flash the firmware when new versions are available. You can't beat the price!. It also features a Intruder Log usful to catch attempted Hacks.

Summary: Great Value for Money!
Review: D-Link's DI-804 Router is a great product with lot of features for a low price. Installation was very simple and quick. Within a matter of few minutes I had my own LAN with 2 PCs conneted to Internet behind a safe hardware firewall.

DI-804 has lot of adavanced features like MAC address cloning, virtual server mapping etc which are very simple to setup. I strongly recommend this product.

Summary: Only allows specific service port forwarding
Review: good router with easy setup guide but I wanted to run more services then the built in ftp/http/smtp etc services. I got the firmware update and it still didn't include it. If you want to have webhosting off of port 80 and have a box that can host off of a non standard port your out of luck. I also wanted to run vnc off of a box but couldn't do this. A good, cheap router if all you want is an internet connection but don't need any port services. I'm going to return this one for the netgear RT-311, or maybe the RT-314. The 314 is the same except has built in hub. I guess I should have checked some other source to see firmware specs... or maybe it is a physical limitation that doesn't allow the port sharing but I doubt it.

Summary: Appears to be a great Router
Review: Got this router up and running in about 10 minutes. I am using a US Robotics 56K modem on the dial up port. So far so good and the price is a steal with the rebate... I will continue to test the various features.

Summary: Slower than dial-up
Review: Hooked up router as instructed. Went fairly easy. Performance was horrible. Slower than dial-up. Manual sent was for a wireless unit - which this is not. Sent email to D-Link customer support. Their response was slow and worthless. Maybe a computer science major could have made it work - but I'm not! Very disappointed. I'm sending it back.

Summary: Tried two of them, neither worked
Review: I am using a Toshiba PCX1100U cable modem for Road Runner and as far as D-Link tells me, this router is supposed to work with it. The first one I got from Amazon didn't work so I figured it was just defective. They sent a replacement and that one won't work either. The WAN connection light just blinks sporadically and will never go steady. I tried everything tech support suggested. Resetting it didn't work for me either. Sent the second one back today and am looking at another manufacturer this time. I had problems with some D-Link NIC's a few years back, so I can just blame myself for going back to them this time.

Summary: Great!! Even I could set this up!!!!
Review: I bought this because I wanted to add another home computer to my cable internet connection.......most of the time spent was simply running cables through the walls to my other computer.....I dont know much about computers, but connecting two computers to my internet connection was a BREEZE!!.....I should have done this a LONG time ago!!.......This is great!!!

Summary: Excellent, Easy to use, good documentation.
Review: I got this router to replace another one that was giving me trouble, a different manufacturer. I had this one set up and surfing the web, sharing my DSL connection with 3 computers in under 5 minutes! The documentation is very clear, and easy to read. The product is solid, and performs well! You can't beat this performance, price and ease of use!
