Rating: Summary: People who gave a bad review are crazy! Review: The person who complained about the customer service is nuts, why would you need CS for a KVM switch? Just plug it in and you're done - it's that easy. The person who complained about the scrolling mouse wheel - My logitech trackman marble works just fine.Wonderful product!
Rating: Summary: Some good... some bad... Review: I haven't been able to track down the reason for this problem, but for some reason my ctrl and shift keys now have about a two second delay (that is, to use either, you need to hold the key down for roughly two seconds... or it doesn't work). Checked their website, but nothing there. Other than that, the product is a great choice... I am very pleased with the video quality (was expecting much worse).
Rating: Summary: Worst Customer Service EVER Review: I purchased one of this company's products and I have NEVER encountered worse customer service. The 800 number rings and rings and when it finally answers you are on hold forever. When you finally get through to the tech support department, there is an operator who takes a message under the guise that someone will actually return the call. When someone finally called me back (after I repeatedly called them to check the status of the callback), the person could not have been in a bigger hurry to get me off the line. When I followed his instructions, my computer locked up and then he said he could'nt wait for me to fix my computer so he hung up. He actually hung up on me! I could'nt believe it. When I called this company to find out the name of the President, the person answering the phone was reluctant to provide it. When I asked for the President's e-mail address and address so that I could send a letter, this person refused to provide it and also hung up on me. If you are stupid enough to purchase this product after my experiences, all I can say is that you better know what the hell you are doing because Linksys certainly will not help you.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't be easier Review: Works exactly as advertised. My 2 PCs are running 1280x1024 @75hz and I see no ghosting whatsoever. My Microsoft Internet keyboard and optical mouse work perfectly. It took all of 3 minutes to hook it up, and it worked perfectly out of the box. How many things can you say that about these days? A steal at this price.
Rating: Summary: I would rate it 6 stars if I could Review: This is one of the best products I own, I've used several other more expensive brands at my office, but I needed one for home. This was just what I needed. LinkSys is quickly becoming a household name for computer accessories.
Rating: Summary: Good Buy Review: I purchased this KVM switch about 3 months ago from Amazon and love it. I have a Win 95 and a dual boot Win 98/Red Hat Linux PC. I can use the switch with either OS without any problems. You can switch between PC's with a push of the button on the front of the KVM unit or with the Ctrl-Ctrl hot key, a very useful feature! I am running at 800x600 resolution and do not see any ghosting of the image. For the price I would highly recommend it. It comes with cables too! It is a good product at a great price. The only flaw I see is that it has an odd design with cables coming out of 3 sides of the unit, but it is under my table and I don't see it.
Rating: Summary: Awsome Utility Review: I am studying for IT certifications and this has made practice a charm. I was easily able to configure a server and a client in the same location without losing any functionality of my home PC. Every feature, including the IntelliMouse, works fine. I highly recommend this product.
Rating: Summary: Did not work with Scrolling Mouse Review: I have problems using the Microsoft Optical Mouse with this KVM switch because it does not recognize the scrolling mouse. Using the switch, I was also unable to use the middle button (as a "Back" function for the IE browser) and the thumb button (as a "Forward" function). Furthermore, as I use the switch for a desktop and my Thinkpad, I was also advised by the KVM switch manual that sometimes there might be a conflict between the switch and a certain Thinkpad functions. To circumvent that, I was told to break off a specific pin off the connection.... not exactly my ideal scenario when I first purchased this kit. Incidentally, I have switched over to a basic mechanical KVM switch and all of the above functions work properly on that KVM switch box.
Rating: Summary: My first KVM Review: It was on sale and I grabbed it and am very satisfied with what I got. I set it up and had it going in about ten minutes.
Rating: Summary: This product rocks!! Review: I bought this nearly 2 years ago, and have never been unhappy with it. I've used it on DOS, Windows 3.1/95/98/NT/XP and Linux machines, with PS2-AT and USB-PS2 adapters - - they always work. I tried a Belkin Omniview 4-port switch for about 6 months - finally sold it and went back to my Linksys, which does NOT make an annoying BEEP every time I switch between machines, does NOT care which machine I power-up first, and NEVER gets "lost" between machines. Thank you Linksys!
