Summary: Another Stellar Linksys Product
Review: This is exactly what I needed! I am running a GNU/Linux server at home on an older PC and I wanted to be able to switch between it and my new Win2K PC without moving cables around each time.

It works perfectly. I am running Windows at 1152x864 on a GeForce 3 video card and Linux at 1024x768 on an ATI@Work video card. I was a bit concerned that my USB mouse, which came with a PS/2 adapter that I am using may not work, but it does.

If you are looking for any easy was to switch between 2 PCs with one monitor/keyboard/mouse this is the way to go! Switching between the two couldn't be easier, just press CTRL CTRL.

Summary: Compatability Problems
Review: If you are using an IBM computer with this KVM switch it will not work. The user manual suggests a work around which I tried but it did not work consistently. Trying to get tech support from Linksys was also difficult and anything beyond 1st level support was non-existent.

Summary: Fit the bill nicely
Review: I wanted to access 2 machines at home, inexpensively, and this fit the bill. If you've ever plugged in a keyboard, monitor, and/or mouse, you have the technical ability for this: it is trivially easy. No drivers, no installation, nada.

Also, the manual was very clear regarding the hot keys.

The only issues, which are small (and not worthy of a star demerit), are: (a) the switch is quite lightweight and can get pulled around by the monitor cable and (b) the cables are not very long. My guess is that they are about 4 feet but please check the technical specs.

Bottomline: if you are looking for a mainstream/home-use KVM switch, this is what you are looking for.

Summary: Simple to setup and use
Review: I recently purchase the two port Linksys KVM switch kit and it was well worth the minimal expense.

This unit comes with everything you need and setup is about as simple as it can get. Plug the computers in to the KVM switch, plug the keyboard, mouse, and monitor into the KVM switch and BAM, you're off to the races.

The unit is small so it can easily be tucked behind a desk further maxmizing your ability to conserve deskspace.

This is an excellent product. I would recommend it to anyone - pro or novice.

Summary: Nicely priced KVM Switch...
Review: I worked as a telecommuter and I'm currently required to run both a Windows '95 and Windows 2000 machine. I did't like the idea of having both laptops on my desk....therefore, after much research, this is the KVM I selected. Very pleased with the ability to press the CONTROL KEY twice on my keyboard to automatically switch between both machines. I use an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard and have placed both laptops on a shelf under my desk. The ability to quickly use the control key to switch between systems eliminates the need to physically press the button on the unit itself for switching. I'm very pleased at both the price and functionality of the unit!

Summary: Dell Laptop -- with NEC Flat LCD -- no go
Review: The wavy lines on this great monitor were so bad -- that I could not stand to look at it. Reconnected the normal way -- looks great -- I guess the KVM Switch is not for me

Summary: Not perfect but a GREAT value!
Review: A great little (compact) unit for the price. After originally giving this KVM unit a 5 star rating, I noticed my 21" monitor has slight jitter. It gets annoying over time so I finally replaced the video portion of the KVM cables with ferrite core SVGA cables to minimize the problem. I also needed gender adapters to fit the switch box port with the SVGA monitor cables.
Maybe I'm just particlar about the display quality. Even the expensive SVGA cables I find in stores have jitter when used with a mechanical VGA switch box so I ordered cables with the ferrite core at both ends of the cables from the internet. I can still see some wiggle in the display text near edges of the monitor but I can live with it considering the convenience this KVM switch offers...

Summary: GREAT value
Review: Not only is this the best price around, but the features, ease of use and quality is outstanding! I'm using a 21" monitor and see no image ghosting on the display. The image qualtiy is extremely sharp. I noticed that the unit automatically switches to display on which ever PC I power on so there's no need to switch the box to the correct setting. I find that double-CTRL click works great to switch between systems. There is a couple seconds of delay but it saves me having to manually switch a unit which used to take me at least a couple seconds. After reading the other reviews I decided to check the unit with the mouse scroll wheel. It works fine with the Microsoft optical mouse that I use.
I had been using a mechanical SVGA box to switch the monitor between PCs and manually swapped between mouse and keyboards. What a pain! For [$] more this unit does it all without even leaving the keyboard! I wish I had known about this item a few months ago...

Summary: Great little switch
Review: I bought this switch to use between my WinXP box and RH 7.2 box. I installed it very easily and quickly. Both systems work great and have not shown any issues for 30+ days. It even works with my cordless mouse!!!
