Summary: Very user-friendly product
Review: I am just a novice as far as networking is concerned. I read about the reviews of different Cable Routers before I decided on this ss2614.

It is very easy to set up. In just 5 or 10 minutes, I am sharing Internet with two computers at home. I can also add my Laptop anytime to the router without any problem. The only problem I had was in sharing computers using different operating systems, Win98 and XP. One of the printers I have is relatively old and does not have XP driver. It is not the router's problem though.

Overall, the product is great and inexpensive. It does come with cat 5e cable.

Summary: GREAT LITTLE MACHINE
Review: I BOUGHT THIS ROUTER AND THIS ROUTER WAS BETTER AND MUCH EASIER TO INSTALL THAN THE LINKSYS EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS WITH THEIR QUICK INSTALL BOOK ANYONE CAN CONNECT WITH THIS ONE. TOOK NO MORE THAN 30 MINUTES AND BOTH OF MY COMPUTERS WERE CONNECTED. LOVE THIS ROUTER

Summary: Oh so simple!
Review: I decided to upgrade my existing hub to a router so that I could take full advantage of my cable service and get the firewall protection that I needed. However, I didn't want to fall into technical hell while installing it. The Siemens router solved my problem with only one minor issue which was solved late on a Sunday afternoon by their wonderful support staff. The browser-based utility and the instructions had me up and running in less than 15 minutes. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star rating was that fact that the WAN and Printer connections are on the back and the LAN connections and lights are on the front. It seemed to be an unusual design.

Review: I own a Siemens router. It worked great for about 6 months and then it died. Siemens did replace it with another, and upgaded it because they apparently admit the other was no good. The new "improved" Siemens router worked for a while, now it's print spooling function won't operate properly. I've wasted about three business days with tech support, fussing with the two Siemens routers trying to get them to stay running. I recommend to anyone to avoid Siemens router products.

Summary: good customer support.
Review: I'll admit it toke about an hour the first time I tryed to hook this router up but it was the first time I had ever hooked up a router. But a quick call to custom support and I was set. I've had this router for around a year now with no problems. I have had it hook up to a static IP and a dymanic one too with no problems. And it wooks great with xbox live. I would recommend this router to anyone.

Summary: Always needs to be reset
Review: I've owned one of these for months now, and I have to reset it at least twice a day, every day. All you have to do is reset it and it comes back up and works great, but we have computers in different rooms, and my wife always knows that the first time she wants to use her computer she has to stop in my office and reset the router first, so it has become a habit. It was easy to install, but what a pain! I'm on this site looking for another one because I just can't take it anymore.

Summary: This thing causes frustration...
Review: I've owned this router for about 6 or 7 months now and I cannot say that I am impressed with it. While the installation was very easy, and it works, it constantly needs to be reset. As a result of constantly resetting it, I've had to call tech support to get help on how to fix it (security settings, resetting the router thoroughtly, etc). They've been helpful both times I've called, but it's irritating that I have to call at all. If I can get the thing up and running (for months, mind you), why can't it STAY up and running??? Oh, and I've never gotten the print server to work. I had very little interest in it doing so, so I didn't try too hard.

Summary: Nice
Review: The installation process was very smooth and the product works fine with InsightBB cable modem service. One interest thing about this machine is that this machine seems to be identical to SMC's barricade 7004ABR. The web based router set-up screen and set-up process is almost identical to the SMC's product.

Review: Who would have imagined setting up a dsl router & print server could be so easy? I bring my laptop home from work many nights and often find myself unplugging my DirectTV dsl connection (ethernet) from my home desktop to plug it into my work laptop. Then I'd plug my printer cable into my laptop. At the end of the night I'd have to go through the same in reverse. At some point I'd usually have to reset my dsl modem to keep it working. If my wife wanted to be online while I was doing my work, she was out of luck.

So I bought this wonderful item. Setup was a snap. Plugged my dsl ethernet cable into the WAN port on the back of the router and plugged cables from the router into both pc's and IT WORKED FLAWLESSLY right from the get go. Took about 5 minutes to be up and running. I couldn't have been happier. Then I installed the print server software after plugging in my printer cable and what do you know - PRINTING FROM BOTH MACHINES WORKED FLAWLESSLY as well.

So now when I want to work on my laptop at home all I have to do is plug one Ethernet cable into my laptop and I'm off to the races. I have my dsl connection and I can print on my printer. My wife can be online and printing at the same time. When I'm done I just unplug one cable. I've only had the router for a few days so it is too early to say whether it fails after awhile, but in the meantime I couldn't be happier with this product.

Now if I could just figure out how to bring less work home...
