Rating: Summary: works great Review: the standard of 2 USB ports for computers isn't really enough.. I have a PDA Cradle, Webcam, Intellimouse Explorer, Scanner, and a Zip 250 drive that all use USB ports, and it gets to be a hassle having to switch them around all the time.Hub works great, i reccommend it
Rating: Summary: Almost too simple! Review: I purchased this unit and had it installed and working in less than 5 minutes! Don't let the low price scare you. This was bargain! The unit is about the size of a deck of cards and can be tucked away behind your computer and out of sight. However, I like the cool lights and left it on top of my desk. Plus now, I've freed up 3 USB ports!
Rating: Summary: Worked instantly Review: I was truly impressed when I plugged this hub in for the first time. No installation was needed, and I was instantly able to use my scanner, printer, and pda cradle. ( + there's still one port left!) This hub is a great product, and a great deal... It looks really slick too!
Rating: Summary: Works like a charm Review: This hub is an incredibly inexpensive way to expand a system to accomodate more USB ports. It was truly plug and play. No problems whatsover. I have a mouse, a Smartmdeia Reader, and a scanner plugged into mine and everything works without a single problem. It is very small and takes up very little space. Glad I bought it.....
Rating: Summary: Easy, useful, and great price Review: When we ran out of USB ports on our computer, I thought about getting an internal card to add 2 or 4 ports. I'm glad we went with this option instead, however. The hub is pretty small, and so it was easy to find a spot to sit it near our USB devices; a couple of our USB cords had been stretched pretty tight to reach the computer, so it was nice to relieve that. If you have any USB devices that expect to be getting power from the computer via the connection, you can plug the hub into a power outlet to accomodate.
Rating: Summary: Simple to use/Easy on the wallet Review: This Hub is very small, easy to install, and inexpensive. Worth 5 stars, but I do have one complaint. It would be nice if all of the ports were in the back, with just the LED lights in the front. If you want to be able to put this on the desk to see the lights, having to plug the cables in to the front of the hub is not very attractive. If I ever need to expand further, I'll look for one just like this, but with all the ports in the back.
Rating: Summary: It works like it is supposed to... Review: I installed a cable modem using one of my USB ports and the other was utilized by my scanner...Unfortunately that left my USB webcam without a home. I purchased this little jewel- it is self or system powered, and it was installed in about 2 minutes. Now my webcam is up and running and I still have two ports available. For the price, this device is perfect.
Rating: Summary: Does a great job and doesn't take up a lot of space! Review: I bought this hub because I had too many peripherals (Mouse, Printer, Joy Stick, Palm-Dock). When I opened the box I was surprised at how small the hub was (it is smaller than the palm of my hand). I quickly realized that this was a plus, beause it doesn't take up any room! The hub comes with a power cord and a usb cable. Both of the cables are quite long too, allowing the hub to go anywhere. Setting up the hub took less than 5 minuites. The best feature is that the hub can be self powered or powered by your computer, allowing you to bring it with you if you have a laptop. If you need a few extra ports, this is a great choice!
Rating: Summary: self-powered option Review: The Amazon description doesn't mention it, but this product is packaged with an AC adapter and can be self-powered rather than taking power from your PC's USB bus. This means that the hub can supply lots of power to connected USB devices. USB hubs without the self-power option cannot reliably support devices with a high current draw...
Rating: Summary: works poorly with iMac Review: The hub worked for a couple weeks I think, but have had numerous problems, enough to render it useless to me. It won't recognize my keyboard anymore (note: it used to)so I have to plug it directly. I also get that caps lock thing going on. It never recognized the DLink Wireless adapter, same manufacturer! Go figure! I have to plug it directly in the desktop. The HP Photosmart printer still works, though. Is this just a Dlink hub issue or DLink products in general because I have the wireless adapter and a wireless router.
