Rating: Summary: No Fuss Review: We have a DLink print server that has served us well so I thought I would give their USB hub a try. Out of the box to operational was two minutes - not a lick of trouble. I am running a mouse, a camera and a digitizing tablet through it with no trouble. The only thing I added was a bit of velcro so it would stay put.I did have a problem with my Nikon Coolpix 880 because it does not support hubs - nice touch Nikon!
Rating: Summary: Excellent hub after its installed Review: I plugged this is and windows 2000 had to update the system. And that took forever. I don't know if its because its windowns 2000 or the hub, but thats never happened to me and it was very annoying to sit there and wait about 45 mins. while it was being updated. But after that, it works great. I have a HPscanne and lexmark printer hooked up and it works fine. But I believe the AC adapter is a waste. My scanner wouldn't work when it was self powered(plugged in) but worked when it was bus powered (unplugged).Same with my printer. So don't bother plugging it in. Its a waste of time and fustrating. Would of given it a 4.5 but they don't have it so it gets 5 stars. Excellent hub for the price though.
Rating: Summary: Easy to Install, Great Small Size, Great Price, Works Great Review: I just took this out of the box and had it installed in less than five minutes - seriously. I was a little surprised at first because it is only a little larger than the size of a deck of cards. So I took out the included AC adapter and plugged it into the hub and into my powerstrip. Then I plugged the included USB cable into my computer's USB port and into the hub. Windows 98 recognized the new hardware and installed it with the Windows 98 CD in about twenty seconds. Then I plugged in my IntelliMouse Optical and my Intel Camera and Windows installed them as well and I was all set. Five minutes after opening the box! So these are the great things about it. 1. Easy to install: literally five minutes. 2. Great size: not much larger than a deck of cards. 3. Great price: PCI USB ports cost twice as much. 4. Works great: four devices can be plugged into the space of one of your computers USB ports. A Great Buy!
Rating: Summary: Easy to use and works great! Review: No real problems what-so-ever getting this to work... My only gripe is that it "seems" to slow the boot up of Windows by a good 3 or 4 seconds. Otherwise a great product at a great price!!
Rating: Summary: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't Review: It's really weird, I can't explain it--most of the time it works perfectly, but sometimes it justs stops working. But even though it works most of the time, I'd just save yourself the trouble and spend 10 bucks more to get a hub that works all of time. You know what they say, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is, and i think that that is the case with this product.
Rating: Summary: Plug it in, and it's a GO! Review: This hub is really very easy to install. Plug it and you're done! The AC adapter is included in case the devices need more power. It can be used without the adapter as well. It looks great, it's very small so it doesn't occupied precious space and it's affordable.
Rating: Summary: Simplicity Review: 1: Remove (tiny, transparent) device from box. 2: Connect /w good quality (supplied) USB cable to PC. 3: Connect up to 4 USB devices to hub. 4: Get to work. It is really that simple. It has 5 green status LEDs (1 for each USB port and 1 for power on). It also has a transformer for external power, which is only needed if your USB device draws a lot of power (like a USB digital camera). This is a great peripheral at a great price.
Rating: Summary: An awesome product Review: I bought this hub several months ago and I am extremely pleased with its performance and looks. I am very pleased with its esthetic looks due to the clear case. One nice surprise was the fact that included with the USB hub was a power cable. This allows the hub to power the devises instead of siphoning power from your computer's motherboard. This helps keep your power hungry devices happy. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good USB hub not only for its esthetics but for also its supreme performance for such a great price.
Rating: Summary: It should'a worked, but it didn't! Review: I followed the very brief instructions and printed a two page document, that is I printed 1 and 1/2 pages of it. On the second try it only printed 1/2 of the first page. In both cases the message came up stating that my computer was unable to communicate with my HP printer. I never had that problem before and I haven't had it since I removed the hub. There's always a reason that something is discounted so much!
Rating: Summary: Good design, but poor quality Review: This is a nifty little box. It matches my iMac nicely. I also love the way it works, when it works. That's my beef with this product. It is flakey. Sometimes it goes off-line and just a tap to the case will bring it back. Sometimes I have to wait until the moon is back in phase before it will work. I think it has a bad solder joint in there somewhere. Do not believe the lifetime warranty and free support. It simply is not true. I have written to complain to the customer support folks and have been summarily ignored. I'd recommend you buy something else. Next time I certainly will.
