Summary: My 10 year-old niece could do it...
Review: I had read reviews written by others whose experiences had been less than positive, but that didn't stop me from trying. I opened the box, plugged the hub into my computer, plugged in my devices (my Canon PowerShot Digital Elph, my Rio 600 mp3 player, and my Thrustmaster game pad). I turned on the computer. Windows pulled up the drivers automatically and I was up and running in less than 3 minutes. Yeah, the instructions are a bit scant if you're not sure what you're doing, but I didn't even use them.

Summary: Cheap hub - Cheap Results
Review: I have owned this hub for about a year. For the most part, I was very satisfied with the hub when I was only using a couple of USB devices going into the hub.

However, I recently bought a USB CD-RW. On top of a printer, USB keyboard, etc. the CD-RW was just too much. I agree with the other reviewer, just spend an extra few bucks and get a robust hub that will last you a while, through multiple upgrades.

Summary: Simple plug-and-play
Review: This product couldn't be easier to use. Simply plug the D-Link hub into the USB port on your computer and plug your USB devices into the hub. Works perfectly with many devices including a Palm, digital camera, desktop video camera and HP printer.

Summary: Great device at a great price
Review: I purchased this hub to increase the number of USB ports on my machine. When it arrived I read the instructions (very minimal manual) and installed the hub and rebooted to Win98, the device was detected right away along with my scanner and steering wheel. I then rebooted into Win2k and repeated the procedure. My total setup time for the hub was about 10 minutes, including rebooting. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to increase the number of USB ports at very little cost.

Other then the limited instructions, I love everything about this unit, I put it on my desk behind my monitor so I don't even know its there.

Summary: Nice USB Hub, Great Price!
Review: Purchased this hub for my little VAIO SuperSlim to simplify my connections to the printer, CDRW, scanner and flash reader. Works great! I did not realize how much faster USB printing was compared to the old parallel interface. I really like this little hub and the price was cheaper than the local stores even after shipping.

Summary: How easy can it get.
Review: I love USB and the DSB-H4 Hub in particular. I like the small size of the hub. It doesn't take up much space on my already cluttered desk. The installation was a breeze. Plug it in, let windows install it's default drivers and BAM, more USB ports. The fact that it has a self power mode is a bonus as well for my webcam and digital camera, which use more power than the bus can supply.

Summary: It's like Christmas!
Review: I hate to be one of those "this thing doesn't work" people, but my experience with this item falls just south of a root canal sans novacaine. The reason I bought a hub was to, well, hub things. I had enough USB devices to merit it, and after installation, I thought my troubles were over. No more plugging and unplugging. My bad. Each of the 4 ports had it's own personality. One didn't like the tablet, but loved the SmartMedia reader. It was ambivalent towards the scanner. Another happily took the visor but shunned the scanner.Getting each peripheral to work together at the same time was impossible. In some cases, powering up a device would shut the hub down entirely, necessitating unplugging it. Granted, some USB devices don't like to share, like the Nomad Docking station and the printer, but it makes me wonder about how a person could possible link 127 devices at the same time. I had a heck of a time with 3.

Summary: Fantastic! Powerful Little Hub! Recommend!
Review: This is a terrific value! I've expanded my laptop's single USB port into four - quickly and easily. Even though I had read some mixed reviews, my experience has been very positive so far! You really don't need to spend more money on another hub - this one's a great value, reliable and is nice-looking too. I wouldn't think twice about buying this product.

Summary: Easy to Install
Review: I first went to local retailers to comparison shop and found competitive products generally priced two to three times as much. So, I decided to give the D-Link a try. I powered down my Hewlett Packard running Windows ME and installed the new hardware. I chose to use the optional AC Power adapter, because I was hooking up the "Viking - Intelliflash smart card reader" and wanted to ensure enough power.

Upon rebooting Windows ME automatically recognized the product and installed the required driver. I verified the installation under "control panel/system/universal serial bus controllers." It was newly listed as a "general purpose USB hub." I can't imagine anyone having problem adding this hub to his or her existing system.

I give it a perfect 5 for ease of installation and excellent value.

Summary: Great value for a USB hub
Review: This hub was a great value. I was suprised how much USB hubs go for, and this one represents an incredible value for someone who just wants a simple small USB hub.

The hub itself is small and attractive, with lots of LEDs to light it up, and the now so popular translucent stlying. Set up was a breeze, plug it in and your good to go.

The hub also supports self-powered or bus-powered operation. This means if like me your hooking up small low power devices to it, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLUG IT IN!

The user guide is a little lacking, and the retail packaging is a little plain, but if you can live with that, this is an exceptional value.
