Rating: Summary: Hawking USB wireless is awesome Review: Had tons of trouble with linksys wireless card wmp11. Couldn't get a good signal through two floors and walls although only 30 feet away. I plugged in the Hawking HWU36D and loaded the software in three minutes... less time than it took to pull out the Linksys card... and now get 100% excellent connection. It has a three foot cord and directional antenna. Good stuff!

Rating: Summary: The best piece of network equipment I ever used!! Review: Wow!!! I was very low opinion of the Hawking Technology products before. Looks like usual low quality cheap chinese produce. I bought this adapter anyways, mainly because it is cheap, because it is a USB adapter and can be moved around the computer to get better reception, and because it is the only USB adapter that can offer something better than a standard 2dBi omni-directional antenna, without going all the way with expensive external antennas and stuff.
The quality of this product really surprised me, in a pleasant way, that is. The reception is stable and very strong. The hardware does its job perfectly, without ever reminding you of its existence. But what is really great about this adapter is the software that comes with it. It is top notch quality, has all the professional features a user would ever need. You can organize the settings in different profiles, there is a very powerful network monitoring tool, which you can use to track all the tiniest details about your network connection, and the standard configuration tool is also much better than what Windows XP has to offer. And because it has a directional antenna, you can even use it as a small locator, to get an idea where the all the access points around you are located. It works very well for stealing high speed internet connection from a neighboring apartment complex more than 300ft away (through walls, windows, and my neighbor's entire house), and it can also do much more. This is now my favorite piece of networking equipment. I only wish it had drivers for Linux, because it is the time when I have to get around without it, is when I realize how great it really is.
