Summary: unless you shut it down it each day
Review: Before I bought it, I saw some reviews here that someone complained about the bugs of this router, e.g. it is not reliable, its DHCP makes no sense, I just thought maybe they did not use DLINK wireless card or they just missed something in the manual or they should update the firmware.

Now, I know what's wrong. I have many Dlink products at home, MP3 player, network card, video camero, ..., they look fancy and usually work fine, but not this one.

This one is just piece of junk. even after updated firmware and used with Dlink card, I still met the problem that people talked about here. In one word, unreliable at all. You may just lost connection suddenly after one or two days, and it will work fine when you shut it down and turn it on again. Not only to wireless connection, but also wire network. I tried many ways and finally gave it up. But if you shut it down whenever you don't use it, you will not have this problem, so unless you don't use it all days along to download things, it might be good.

Summary: FAST, EASY AND A BARGAIN
Review: Baought this to share my Yahoo DSL account with older PC's in house.
DI-614+ installed with PIII 866MHZ Netvista IBM with XP Pro, connected to Speedstream 5360 DSL Modem.
Wireless connect to DWL-520 on a PII 350 with W2K (note: not the DWL-520+) and DWL-650+ on IBM ThinkPad T22 with W2K.
The DI-614+ was installed in 12 minutes, of which 10 was to crawl around and connect cables behind PC. Software install was as described in picture-book manual: EASY EASY!

Wireless network and internet sharing on other PCs (easy installs too) went live withing 1 hr.
Compare this to the Netgear and others and nowhere will you get a device like this with these features for 70$ (89$ - 20$ rebate).

Summary: Solid choice
Review: Coupled w/the D-Link AirPlus dwl-650+ PCI card, this is a solid choice. The toughest thing was getting my network config'd. I would recommend.

Summary: This router is a piece of ...
Review: All iv had is trouble with this router. Drops connection ever so often. Slows down to a crawl with encryption turned on. Iv tried every possible of configuration setting, upgrading the firmware on my Lucent wireles card, the firmware on the router and still all the same problems exist. But the same laptop and wireless card work perfectly will the different wireless routers in my office and friends places. But with this router its horrible. I wouldnt anyone to buy this product.

Summary: Easy to setup and it's working as advertised
Review: I am very pleased that this went off without a hitch. I amazed my friend who is a lot more technical than me when I called him up saturday. I called him to get a recommendation on what brand to buy and he said D-Link is a little faster and more reliable than the others, so I trusted him and when I called him back that night he was amazed i was able to do it with out calling him once. I think the secret is that this came with a good start guide and a setup wizard when configuring everything.

The only help I needed was when I called my ISP to get my connection info. Everything is running smoothly and both my roommate and I are now wireless with our laptops and we can have a setup like the old battleship board game and play games against each other and it is awesome.

I'd recommend this to anyone with a laptop and the D-Link wireless card to go with it. It works right out of the box.

Summary: Aaahhh! Wireless Freedom Atlast!!!
Review: I have cut and paste the review I gave for the D-link Wireless router, which I bought with along the Card.
--
I purchased the router along with the 22Mbps Wireless card by D-link in December 2002. I decided to wait for a full month to see how it works before I write a review about it.
This has been the best product I have purchased which worked right of the box. All I had to do was unwrap it, plug the power cord in, connect it to my cable modem, put my pcmcia card into my laptop and voila!! I was online browzing by way to eternity and beyond.

The signal strength has been excellent. I have the router placed in upstairs bedroom where I have a desktop computer connected directly to it. I can get the signal anywhere in my room. I even went to the bathroom below to try it and hey..no problems at all! I have never had a problem with me losing the signal strength even once.

The download speeds have been great too! I have been getting speeds consistently in the range of 50-100KBps. But sometimes I have been able to get even more. I guess I am limited only by my broadband connection (Btw, I have Timewarner Cable and I really like the concept of always online).

The security too seems to be good. Although the router has a firewall in it, I have put a software firewall on my machines. But I dont see much activity on the s/w version. I have also configured my router so that at any time atmost 2 machines can be connected to it. Since I have 2 computers and most of the time they are on, you wont be able to get any snoopers or wafters onto your network.

Overall, I give it two thumbs up !

OH!! lest I forget...When I bought it in December, Amazon had a deal going on which said that if I buy the router and the card together as a package, I save [$$$] and also I got a mail-in rebate of [$$$] for it together. It ended up costing me [$$$] for both!!! It has been worth every penny I spent.. to get me the wireless freedom I wanted (err..I still need the juice, because of the card now my laptop battery gives me 2.15hrs compared to the 3.15hrs before..something nobody mentioned in the reviews I read before I bought it)! Now, I am on my way to voting online for the american idol, star search and what not, sitting in front of the tv and getting lazier in the process.

Summary: An Excellent Product!
Review: After educating myself about wireless networks and reading tons of reviews, I decided to purchase this router and D-Link AirPlus adaptors for my two notebooks and my desktop. In addition to its internal network functions, I am using the router to share a cable modem connection. I had no problem setting up the network and it essentially worked the first time. The range is sufficient to cover my 3500 square foot home in which my wife and I have offices at opposite ends. The router is positioned about halfway in between and the throughput is entirely satisfactory.

I do wish D-Link's documentation was better. As a relative newcomer to networking, I was not sure that the router was set up correctly in terms of the firewall and encryption. The included documentation really doesn't explain the configuration options very well. It would be helpful to have some common network configurations illustrated along with their settings.

But, all-in-all, it is an excellent product!

Summary: D-Link AirPlus DI-614+ Wireless 33 Mbps router
Review: Easy and quick setup. Using this wireless router with a Linksys cable modem on Comcast high speed Internet access. Used with both desktops and a notebook computer. Used with both Win98SE and WinXP Professional. Excellent range in 3-story home. Only complaint is size.

Summary: Simple, Cheap, Effective
Review: It worked right out of the box. In the 4 months I've had it, I've only had to reboot it a couple of times. I added an external antenna so that I could beam my high speed internet connection to a neighbor across the street. I couldn't ask for much more, especially at this price.
