Summary: These are great... For the price.
Review: If you asked me what network card to purchase under $20 it would be a toss-up between NetGear and this card. I highly recomend both over those no-name brand things you can get, but neither are the greatest. I have, however, used Linksys cards (including this one) in many application and I've never had a problem. Beware that the drivers aren't included in the OS which can be a pain, but of course they include drivers, and their website posts the latest ones.If you can get an Intel or 3com NIC, do it. If you can't look at this one and the NetGear. They will work for you.

Summary: Excellent card at a great price
Review: The linksys card not only came with great instructions, but proviedes quick acces to the internet via a DSL connection (running Windows ME). When used in conjunction with a hub and another computer, it provides a extremely quick link to the other computer(s). It is affordable, easy to install and comes with complete software. I have bought two of them!

Summary: Spend a few extra bucks
Review: I work technical support for a DSL Internet service Provider. The *only* manufacturer of Ethernet cards that we consistently have a problem with is Linksys. Avoid them. Their router seems to be okay, but the cards are terrible.

Summary: Installed Flawlessly for my DSL Setup
Review: After having good recommendations from the networking dept at work I bought a Linksys to install DSL at my home on a Win98 box. The installation was plug & play and it runs great. Purchased more cards for the other computers at my house; again, installed flawlessly on Win2000.

Summary: Straightforward, Easy-to-install
Review: I purchased 3 of these cards. Two were installed on Windows 2000 machines, and a third on a Windows 98SE. Easch installation took only a few minutes, and was completely trouble-free on all 3 computers, although these 3 machines utilized different motherboards. I only needed to follow directions from the single-sheet, full-color detailed instruction sheets that were included with the product. Highly recommended!

Summary: Home network a cinch.
Review: Installed 3 Linksys LNE100TX cards on home network about a year ago, and all have worked great! Install was easy on all the machines (Win 98) and along with 5 port Linksys hub, speed and compatability is excellent. Just installed Linksys 1 port cable router to network. Install took about 10 minutes and easy to configure. All three machines now have excellent internet access sharing (1500+ kbps) with only 1 IP address. No problems here!

Summary: Works Great!
Review: If you don't realize that PCI stands for Programmable Computer Interface, then you are the kind of goober who shouldn't be doing his own upgrades. Otherwise you can work out any potential problem with this card just fine. I put two in some Windows Me machines and the driver software wasn't on the floppies that came with them, so I went to their website and downloaded them, installed them and was fine. They are performing flawlessly with my Linksys hub for cable modem and two other disimilar systems with different cards and computer set ups. I see no reason to pay the 3 Com price for a ethernet card--and I think 3 Com is now in trouble....

Summary: An everchanging product
Review: I got a couple of the LNE100TX cards along with the Linksys Network in a box product a year ago. I had no problems using it under Windows 98. But to get it to work in Red Hat 6.2 I had to recompile the Tulip dirver using the latest source code (not the source that came with the card). They work fine under Red Hat 7.0 too using the tulip drivers that came with the OS. I just got another one of these a couple of weeks ago thinking it would work fine on another computer with Linux. Turns out they changed the controller chip on this card. It now uses the same controller as Linksys' Network Everywhere brand. The drivers that came with the card did not work with Windows 98, but I had another set of drivers for the Network Everywhere brand which worked fine. It worked fine under Windows 2000 also. I have yet to get it to work under Red Hat 7.0 though. No amount of recompiling of the Tulip driver has made it work yet, but I think Red Hat may be partially responsible for that. To summarize my review: Linksys keeps changing the chip in the card every year so beware if you use Linux. Their website shows 6 different drivers for one model. They ought to change the model number everytime they change the chip.

Summary: Excellent Dcoumentation, Great Price, Easy Installation
Review: Not everything happens in the order you expect. I thought I would have DSL in on my old computer before anything happened, but the new computer came first, my router and Linksys card and the cables. So I decided why not last things first. The documentation is outstanding. clear and concise text, pictures and graphics. Separate sections for different operating systems walking you through each step of the way. This was my first experience with a network, the card and drivers installed as stated, and I had the two computers 'talking to each other' with my printer networked as well through the Linksys router in no time. I expected I might run into a problem or two connecting a new PIII w/ME to a four year old PI with an old Win95 installation that really needs cleaning up, but not a hitch. I'm delighted.

Review: I had problems installing the driver into my Windows 98. I called customer support at 8pm Pacific Time and they answered within 10 mins. In less than five minutes we got the software installed and I haven't had any problems since. I am using it to connect my DSL. Good luck.
